STUNNING bass, man :eek:! I can easily say that of all the awesomeness if seen oozing from the Spector club threads this is the bass I most like to own. If you ever plan on selling it... ya' know - I'm only a PM away :D :bassist:

Yes, it looks fantastic and the sound is up to its looks, but I have no time to master a fretless :( (a day-job, a family and two bands with tight schedule). So it just stays in the case and waits for a nice trade offer to pop-up...

I also scored a great deal on it. $899 ($2099 list) although another poster said he saw some go for as little as $600. Is this discount normal on all Spector models?

Unfortunately, no. Since Spectors are an acquired taste, they are usually sold to those who know and love the tone. If there is a high end Spector at a retailer where they sell the run-of-the-mill basses and it's been there a while, you can bet you'll probably get a decent deal on it.

Are the ReBop models just the Euro models with a bolt on neck? I'm kind of confused here and I'm looking to try out a few Spector basses. Could someone please clarify? Thanks.

You are correct! I purchased a 5'er a couple of weeks ago. I wrote Spector customer service and provided the serial number. Her is what they wrote back;

hello -

thanks for the email. I am glad you are enjoying your Spector bass!

your bass was made in our Czech shop in approx early 2003 by its
serial number. it is either Euro4/Euro5 (if neck-thru) or ReBop4/
ReBop5 (if bolt-on).

I hope this info helps!

I just picked up a used Spector yesterday. I had wanted a Euro for a while but I was waiting for the right deal to come along and it finally did!
