Spector Euro 4 LX Limited Edition White

Hello Everyone!

I am currently a Fender player and looking to branch out. I have heard people say Fenders and Spectors are 2 completely different animals. I understand that but for sentimental reasons, I have always dug the Sting White Spector from the Synchronicity Tour.

This brings me to my question: Is there an enormous difference between the original NS2 and the Euros? I may have enough to go high end Euro but not full on NS2 unless I get lucky and find a used one.

I don't post much so maybe I should have posted this in the Spector Club but I would like an unbiased opinion.

The Hazlab that came on the US is different. What my buddy did was take his early version Czech Euro that was all-maple body, and he bought a Hazlab preamp from Spector. Says it absolutely smokes like his pre-Kramer NS2's that he also has.

Contrary to the Euro LX models, it's all maple like the NS2, plus same EMG pickups.
The preamp is different, but IMO the tonepump can get 90% the sound of the original.

I think it's an amazing choice if you're a fan of the Sting White Spector sound and look ;)

good catch, the limited edition bass is all maple, like a good old fashioned NS2. the tonepump preamp has its fans and detractors, but yours will have a trim pot so that the usual issue of crazy high output is a non issue.

you'll definitely get a fantastic sounding and playing bass that has the classic Spector tone.

I, too, have always loved sting's white Spector!

I don't know if anyone around here knows, but since sting's Spector had a badass I bridge, why aren't these being produced with this bridge? Seems like that would be easier (and more accurate) than chrome plating the Spector bridge....

Fenders and Spectors really are worlds apart. Check my screen name - I'm a hard core Ric guy, but I just got a white Euro with the tone pump. It's now my go to bass. I haven't been this jazzed about a bass in decades. Spector has a lot of fans, and it's for a reason

The euro's are about 90-95% of the US basses. The change in construction was for tone / consistency reasons. Running the tone pump at 18v , turning down the output, and adjusting the pickup height will get you the USA9V ( HAZ) tone. the euro's are really great basses and compete well with most basses in the 3-5k$ range. Their a little too good for the price, but that's how Spector does things. Sorry but they blow away any fender at any price imo in tone, quality, hardware and fit n finish. those are cool limited addition basses with the chrome hardware. Buy with confidence. But know once you come over to the dark side, you wont want to go back.
