Splitting Coil on Schecter Omen Extreme 5?

So, I have a Schecter Omen Extreme 5, and I am wondering if it would be possible to split the coils on each of the humbuckers to turn it into a quasi jazz bass. The bass uses Schecter Diamond Series Pickups, and is active. Would this be a possible? And, if so would it actually sound decent, or are the humbuckers not meant to be split?

Thanks

I don't believe that the Diamond Series p/u's are able to be split but I'd suggest that you reach out to Schecter's customer service and ask them for a definitive answer. You could replace them with EMG 40TW's which are configurable as either humbucker or single coil via each one's push/pull volume knob.

Or you could upgrade to Schecter's Hellraiser Extreme 5 which comes with the 40TW's and a number of other features not available on the Omen Extreme 5. That's what I did and I'm very happy with my decision to do so.
