Spooktober. The one month of the year when I feel truly alive.
This month can be enticing and invigorating, can't it? If you listen closely in the quiet hours, you can hear the scratching of those long gone, impatient to visit again.
When my girls became too old for me to take them out, I reverted to scaring the kids that came to our house. Wife would sit outside to hand out candy, porch light on, house darkened, low volume ethereal music from speakers near the open windows.
Scary mask and gloves, full length tattered, dirty, worn-out full length hooded robe for me. It helps that I'm 6ft 2in (1.88m). Stood immobile against a tree or wall until the kids were close, either approaching or leaving. A slow head turn and a few steps was all it took as they'd side-eye me or or ask "Is that real?". I didn't know young kids can be creative with cuss words sometimes LOL. Had fun doing that for many years.
Now I live in an adult community, no kids come by. Bummer...
Wife and I have started watching some classic horror movies, and some newer ones, but that's about it.
However, my avatar seems to be heavily influenced by the month of All Hallow's Eve. It went thru some changes last year during this month, and it seems to be starting again. Little twit has a life of it's own. It recently cut it's hair and facial hair, I haven't yet. I'm watching it now, because it seems to be starting again. Original pic:
