Squier Affinity Club

Any affinity PJ owners? How are they fairing a few months after they've come out? I'm thinking about picking one up later today.
I just bought a used lefty last week. I can't give you an answer though, as the previous owner replaced everything but the wood. I am in the process of "de-Fenderizing" it now.

Here's my P Bass:

Current Mods: Badicz bridge, new knobs, new pickguard
Pending mods: Maple Jazz bass neck, DiMarzio pickups, new black-white-black pickguard, "proper" machineheads!
Turn that table around so you can read "SINGER" and the letters should be painted gold (if they aren't already) NICE table.

I don't care what anyone says, I totally dig my affinity. I have since day one. I've modded the heck out of it, but I still totally dig it. My fav part of the bass is the neck and the balance. I do have to say that when I first got it, it needed a setup. Bad. Big once I performed it, it played awesomely. I'm thinking about shimming the neck too. I shimmed my P over the weekend and got the action pretty low now. Very cool. Very fun to play. Even more so now.

Killing gods

I'm in, Squire Affinity Jazz delivered today! Bought it for a back up with the intent of modifying it. I have to work on the set up a bit, but it's got that Fender sound for sure.

Here ya go! Sweetwater was out of the Lake Placid Blue, so I endedup getting the Burgundy Mist Metallic. Didn't matter to me, it'll be blacked out by the weekend!

I'm waiting for the yellow one to be in stock this Friday! I plan to purchase a babicz bridge, pearl pickguard, pearl topped knobs, new pickups with white pickup covers, and a Squier VM white bound and pearl inlayed neck :D

I've noticed this & would like to know why the body is thinner?
Affinity's bodies just are thinner. Maybe to save money, even the guitars are.

So there is some heavy squier hate on this thread. I play guitar to and my main guitar is a 2003 squier standard series strat with double humbuckers, its all stock except for knobs and strap pins. I bought it out of a storage shed with no strings on it, the owner handed me a box of new strings. I paid $30.50 for it. Granted these are a little higher grade then the affinities they were around I think $229.99 new whereas a affinity strat was maybe $169.99 new? This is one of the best guitars I have ever owned. I strung it up the day I got it and the action was super, super low and never a buzz of the frets. I have had it 18 months and its never needed anything but a little turn of the truss rod, I have never messed with the bridge. I have a Fender American 62 RI strat, Gibson Les Paul Studio and a 1978 Musicmaster and I grab this $30 squier over those ones, I love it. Squier can make some real gems.

I wouldn't want mine any thicker...a bass is so heavy relative to a guitar. And I play a semi-hollow electric and an all-solid wood acoustic, so I really notice the weight.

I did notice that my Affinity body is made from just three pieces of alder. I know that there's been criticism in the past about the bodies using four or five.
