Squier Affinity Club

I want to join the club! I am a total noob and this Squier Affinity Series Precision Bass PJ is my first bass ever. I bought it on Christmas Eve and I totally love everything about it!

Great bass!! I got the black one as an Xmas gift from my girl. I changed a lot I the hardware already and I'll change the pups when I get some extra scratch. I dig the stock pups but they are a tad boomy for my setup. Other than that, it's a superb bass for the money. I love the feel, balance and neck on it. Plays great.

Any affinity PJ owners? How are they fairing a few months after they've come out? I'm thinking about picking one up later today.

Go and pick one, great cheap bass.

Pros : fat P sound, light, good neck with very good trussrod response, good tuner keys, bridge good setup response, good base for modifications, bargain !

Cons: needs a full setup from the box, weak noisy (single coil) Jazz pup unmatched with the Precision would have deserved severe overwound

Howdy Squier Affinity club (this is almost a re-post from the tricked out Squier club... got no help there),
I just picked up what I believe to be a 07 MiC Affinity J5 (SN CY0708XXXX) and am looking to get some new p'ups and probably pickguard. Here's my problem, I know diddly about Fender or Squier sizing... especially on a 5'er. I took a measurement of the neck and bridge and came out to about 4 inches on the bridge and about 3 3/4 - 15/16 on the neck, sound about right?
Have any of you fine folks done any pick up swapping on a similar model? What did you end up with? I'm most concerned with getting the right size, ya know? Are they the same size as a Fender J 5? Deluxe? Mex? USA? Before you ask, you betcha, I used the search before posting. I've kinda been beating my head against this for a day or 2.
From what I've read, They are standard Fender American size and a MiM pickguard would be the closest to fitting. Is that the case?

Thankee muchly,
Dan

Found the answer here:

Jeez, I can't for the life of me understand why that didn't come up in any of the search results before now.

Well I don't own a squier but the one I used to have was a good workhorse. The g string tuning head did fall of because of crappy wood but it still maintained the tuning stability.

I kinda do miss it but I moved one to Fenders. Nor all squiers suck...those who claim they do are just complete gear snobs. Most likely they haven't played a ton of them.

I need to join.. here is my $70 find.. a Squier Affinity P-Bass MiC Black SN NC769197 (i assume its 2007) it has lots of paint chips here and there and a major ding by the bridge.
