First off, congratulations! If yours plays and feels anything like mine, it may become your #1. It’s tied for my #1 and I have 7 basses.
It’s really not necessary (IMO) to replace the stock bridge. It works perfectly fine and does its job well. And believe it or not, the stock pup in that 70s CV sounds really good. I replaced mine with EMG Geezers, but in retrospect, it’s not a huge improvement.
I haven’t measured the nut width on mine either, but it is noticeably thinner than your typical P bass… so I don’t think this is a factory manufacturing anomaly (on yours). Mine is also light, weighing in at 8 pounds 12 ounces.
Not sure where yours is made. I got mine a few years ago (at a nearby Guitar Center) and it was the last year they were “crafted in China”. From what I have researched/read, the CIC CV 70s are highly desirable.
Regardless, enjoy your new P bass! It will be hard to put down!
P.S.
I also put some EB Cobalt Flats on mine… unbelievably cool sound and tone. And very smooth to the touch. Mine is also Surf Green and it looks stunning!
