Ohhhh that shade of blue. Yes I have seen those. That’s sharp!!! I like that color. Ranks right up there with sea foam green. That’s another pretty color. Makes one think of the ventures or dick dale

I like it and the Fiesta....only got to see one of the limited edition gold ones....have seen photos of the Japanese market white one also....
I keep hoping for a shell pink w matching HS...or surf green

Cv 70p is great , but for me , the CV 60p has better comfort neck profile .

I just recently bought a used 70s Classic Vibe Matt Freeman Signature bass, and after giving it a good set up, it is much much closer to any American P bass I've played than it is to the Squier Affinity bass that I started out with.

I'm not sure how close the Freeman is to the regular 70s Classic Vibe, but my Squier CV is definitely a damn fine instrument for the money.

Thanks for all the info and help. I'll be ordering the classic vibe 70's very soon. None of my local music stores have any in stock, but with all the positive feedback I feel this bass will be worth ordering without being able to try first.

You better snatch one up online new or used . They’ve disappeared from the Squier website . Most likely discontinued like the other great Classic Vibe basses. 60’s and Matt Freeman’s are hard to come by with prices steadily climbing . Looks like the 50’s Precision is the last man standing on the Classic Vibe Bass line.

Well my new 70's Classic Vibe arrived a few days ago. It has a couple of minor flaws but plays, sounds, and feels really good. I almost returned it but have decided to keep it.

I remember awhile back someone thought the CVs would be discontinued one day because they were too good for the price.

Agreed. I have a Matt Freeman and a CV '60s Jazz Bass. IME these basses are the all-stars of the Classic Vibe Series.

I've done some upgrades on mine (Babicz FCH Bridge/Bill Lawrence Pickups) out of preference but even stock both are as good as players of any of the Fender Basses I've ever owned and that would include a '63 PBass and a '66 Jazz. CV's are high value buys even brand new if you're unable to find one used.

I play the PBass more than I do my G&L 2500 right now and the guys in my band love it's tone and punch. The Jazz Bass and a small amp are right next to my desk for impromptu practice. Out of a dozen or more basses I've owned over the years they are two of the best buys I've ever made.

I just posted on another thread how much I like the one I bought, the frets are no big deal, you'll only notice when you're looking at them. I put on a nicer pick guard, at least I think so anyway. I have a Fender J and P and this one is in my hands more than the other two, with the J almost being ignored lately. This is a top notch instrument, I think the rattling tuner might not be so common, mine are fine.

Sorry for not responding, I think you asked where did I get PG for the Squire. I got it from PickGuardian in Columbus OH. I got a black one at the same time, thinking I might like it better but I think the Parchment looks a tad nicer. Both are very nicely made and finished.

Is there a downside to having the smaller frets? Will it be much easier to fret? I don't think I've ever played a bass with vintage style frets.

My aerodyne jazz has super low frets (presumably installed by previous owner) and I love them. I though I tended to dig in until I got this bass. Felt a bit awkward initially but it quickly became my number one. And now I know I tend to dig in a lot on tall frets but prefer low frets.

I purchased a new cv 70 a few months ago then not really thinking straight sold it thinking it wasn’t for me.Ended up with another p bass mim fender.Played that for a while and realised what a mistake I had made.Now I’m the owner of a second Squire cv 70 and absolutely live it although the a strings a bit rattley I will check the tuners but I’ve got to say it gets more play than the Mexican fender.

Plenty of bassists play a Squier CV/VM on gigs and leave their expensive instrument(s) at home (or reserve the latter for the studio). That way, you typically have a lightweight, good-sounding bass that plays well and is easily replaced—and if it gets stolen, you are less likely to suffer cardiac arrest.

Typically, only musicians know the difference between a "Squier by Fender" and a "Fender"; among those who know, very few will care; of those who care, very few will pre-judge your musicianship based on what brand of instrument you play (with one exception: producers overseeing studio recordings do sometimes have a stick up their you-know-what that it *has* to be a Fender). Forget about it. Let your playing speak for itself!

I’ve decided to go all black on my C.V and the geezers still make it sound lovely For a squire it was a fantastic bargain and I’ve had no issues at all.Last thing to do is get some black tuners in although the standard are still working fine.Ive read the hb1’s are a direct fit but I need to be sure as I don’t want to drill extra holes.
