Is the 60's P still available in Sonic Blue? All I'm seeing at the moment is the red version of it. I've been meaning to pick one up for a while now but haven't gotten around to it yet.

Funny, I was not a big fan of P-basses, in fact I said often how I just don't like their sound. And I *hated* red instruments. Oh, and I would seek out maple fingerboards over rosewood to the pint that it was often what would stop me bying some guitars.
Now I own a fiesta red CV Squier (P, red, rosewood!) and I love love love it!
Which DiMarzio's did you put on?
My CV Jazz had decent tone, and it sounded like a typical J when I bought it. Problem is, I don't really like the thin vintage tone, so I put on a set of DiMarzio Ultra Jazz pickups. It still sounds like a J, but with more bottom end and no single coil hum when not running both pickups full on.
They really woke up the bass. I'm happy with them. Still trying to get used to the tiny little thin neck. I've never owned a 4 string bass before and it's an adjustment for sure. Can't tell you how many times I play the A string when I want the E string. LOL!
I have owned 6 CV's. 2 of each model, I have also played dozens of others and I have yet to see a bad egg. I have not even heard anyone complain about getting a bad one , and TB'ers are not one to hold back crying about quality control

I dont see how thats to many, the reason is there damn good basses and I pick them up for 200$ or less used. Show me a bass I can get for under 200$ with this kind of quality and i will happily go buy 6 of them.
............I ended up with 4, one duplicate model, and like them all. My only regret is that I got two of the 60s CV P-Basses, and should have gotten two of the CV 60s J-Basses instead. I have changed pickups and pickguards in some of them, so it is almost like having different basses, instead of the same model!

I put the DP 122's in my P bass. The J I put Fender '75 RI pups in it and that was like night and day as far as tone.

by a luthier who's doing that task between other stuff, so it will take time. Oh, and mine will be strung BEAD, flats!I played it for some time prior to bringing it to the luthiers, and I liked it a lot (safe for the loose jack and the yellowed PG with rusty screws: one being a factory thing, the other a shop storage thing). I'm now planning to get the Butterscotch Blonde, but to be left stock, safe for the strings (I prefer flats).
That "BB" is becoming reality: like MF, Thomann (Germany) has a pic of it (Squier still hasn't...), and a price, and an idea of being in stock: near the end of this month. GAS!!
If GC had a Butterscotch Blonde in stock too, I might have had a tough decision, I'm very happy with the blue though
I'll put flats on it sometime down the road. The rounds that are on it sound pretty good and give me some variety from my VM Fretless Jazz with flats.
The thick "C" neck is much easier than I expected and the vintage style frets are sweet. This bass is really light too.

Well, if the neck of this P is what's called "thick" (I already had two Jazzes, also chosen for having a thinner neck, my hands not being really big, but without having tried a P at all), then my hands are bigger than I thought: when I tried it, I didn't seem to notice much difference with my Jazzes. I thought this neck was really well playable.

I own a CV 60s PBass and have played the other 2. Compared to an American or MIM PBass, the neck on this bass is smaller both in width and depth (didn't do exact dimensions). If you are someone who has shied away from a traditional P Bass because of the size of the neck then IMO the CV 60s would be a good choice. The 50s CV, like the original, feels bigger because it's deeper and there is less of a C shape, almost squarer if you think about it. The CV Jazz feels smaller compared to a traditional Am/MIM shaped neck.
I find that necks are kinda like keyboards and mice. At first a new one feels very different and then after playing for a while I adjust to it pretty quickly. However, of all my current basses, the neck on the CV 60s PBass feels just about perfect to me.
The neck on the CV Jazz is very, very slim.
I have large hands, and it's actually hard for me to play since I'm used to my 5 stringers. My G&L L-2500 has the absolute best neck in existence. Feels very natural in my hand.
