Squier Classic Vibe Club (Part 2)

If you read back a ways, you'll see I bought a sonic blue CV P and then not too long after I got the Matt Freeman cause it looks so frickin awesome. Fitted them both with Chromes immediately after bringing them home.

I decided to make the MF my main gigging bass cause of the looks, so I shielded it, put in a Link Removed and an "original 62" pickup. It quieted the hum beautifully and the knobs feel much more substantial and the neck feels like I'm holding a big fat stick of butter in my left hand. I love, love, love playing it.

Papa, bring your MF to the next GTG. I'll bring my MF too. I have the original 62 in my Affinity and like the stock PU in my MF. I'd like to compare.

Does anyone know how to determine from the serial number what the country of manufacture, factory, and year of a CV 60s P is?

The S/N on mine begins with CGRI08. I'm going to guess that the "CG" stands for the Classic Vibe series; "RI" refers to the factory, and "08" is the year of manufacture (2008). Anyone concur? To which factory would "RI" refer?

I know, it was terribly insensitive of me. Bad taste. I outta be chastised. But then, back when I used to drive semi, Americans would make fun of my Canuck accent (what accent eh?) And laugh, I mean laugh. I didn't get offended.

The funniest was I was in San Luis Osbispo (sp?) and the fuel desk guy laughed at my company fuel card marked "Saskatoon, Saskatchewan". Then I told him that Lake Sacacawea was in North Dakota, is that funny Mr. San Luis Osbispo? :D

Edit and let's not forget Ox nard. Heh heh, cow nards, heh heh, caca, heh, heh.

I humbly submit my LPB CV 50s P-Bass for your approval...
