Say, I was wondering as to how easy it is to replace the PG on a Classic Vibe P? I am itching to upgrade the pots and jack (loose) and may get a different colour p/g. The Fender USA pickguards seem to be a direct fit, as testified by other CV owners, but do any aftermarket ones fit without too much modifications? Otherwise, I may just stick with the original. 
Yep. Allparts p/g's are almost perfect fit. I put a b/w/b guard on my Fiesta Red P, no worries.
Cool. I priced out Fender USA P/Gs and they are a little spendy. Will give a closer look at Allparts!
Does this mean that there are imperial and metric ones? I've only seem them in different finishes: bronze, black and chrome
Is it worth changing the jack as well for a longer barrelled one?

Yes, there are imperial and metric threaded. Ours are metric. If you were to put a CTS jack in, you would get imperial. I see no palpable difference in sleeve length between stock and CTS.

Hey there CV Club! Sort of a weird question, but is there any difference between the Fiesta Red and Blue CV 60's P? Right now I'm trying to decide on a p-bass, and I've found a VM P with all the electronics from an American Fender P for $250 and a Fiesta Red stock CV 60's P for $200 (though, possibly I can get it down to $175 or so). I've been gas-ing super hard for a CV P for a while, I've heard such great things about them, but I rarely see the blue ones, only the red ones.
The blue ones came before the red ones. Blue is no longer made. Red is the only current CV P (unless you count the black and maple Matt Freeman model).
I believe the Red ones do not come with the bridge cover (ashtray) - the blue ones did. The bridge on the blue ones does not have brass saddles the red CV P does have brass saddles.
Someone here will correct me if I'm wrong.
If you're choosing between a VM and a CV you really just need to answer one question - do you prefer a satin neck finish (VM) or gloss (CV)?

Thanks man! I was seriously considering the VM because the guy says it's got all the electronics from an american fender P, but all the amazing reviews and the lower price on the CV I think has me swayed. I do love the glossy finish too.
Does anybody know if it's possible to replace the big, fat saddles on the CV 60s P with standard-size saddles? I need lower action and I'm thinking I'd rather do that than shim the neck....
I personally prefer the gloss too.
If you can pickup a red CV P in good shape for $175, you've done very well. The electronics from an American wouldn't sway me at all. My blue P sounds absolutely fantastic, 100% bone stock everything. I have no urge to upgrade anything in it. Okay I put a tort guard on it, but that's just looks so it doesn't count. Even so, electronics in a P are laughably simple. If you decide you want to upgrade something, DIY is very easy.
Have you actually held both of them in your hands and played them? Buy the one that feels the best *to you*.
Yes you should be able to. Just unscrew the old ones and put on the smaller ones.
I dont understand people choosing the VM because it has a satin neck. I changed the gloss on my CV neck to satin in about 30 seconds with a square of 600 grit sandpaper. It's not rocket science.

Well, the height screws do fit, but the HiMass bridge's stock screws do not fit in the regular Fender bridge saddles. Worse still, the regular Fender saddle screws are not long enough to reach the end of the bass-plate nearest the neck. In other words, it seems like this mod will not work.
So ... I guess it'll be a shim job! Is anyone else having this issue?
