Agreed! Unfortunately it's a 7.25" Radius. Fretting hand much prefers the 9.25 Radius for some reason.

They do roasty necks in both 9.5" and 7.25" radius and both J and P. My DIY P bass has the 'modern' roasted maple P bass neck with the 9.5" radius, but the Jazzborghini has the Jazz neck with the 7.25 radius. Really nice necks, and they often go on sale for $250 around this time of year. I remember snagging the Jazz one for around that on Amazon during black friday last year.

I love necks with 7.25, 9.5, 10 radius...anything flatter than that feels like a mistake.
Had a Warwick with a 16 or maybe 20 and I eventually sold it.
The most important feature is rolled fretboard edges, if no rolled edges it definitely feels like a mistake.

I can get behind a lot of this. I love 'em curvy, but I didn't really know much about "rolled fretboard edges" until I bought a first-generation Sire V9, one of their snazzier models at the time. It had the vintage-style curve, but the angle where the binding met the board was so severe, I could feel it almost every time I fretted a note. Once I could feel the difference, it all made sense.

'Twas a shame to let it go. Not only did it have a gorgeous transparent black, quilted maple top, but I got it brand new for a fantastic price. But, I've always maintained a firm stance on ergonomics. If it doesn't feel good in my hands, it has no place in my home.

And, since misery loves company, lemme show ya what I had to let go!

I've never seen one in the wild but every closeup I've seen looks like the edges are hyper rolled...I mean to the point the fret height at that junction seems exaggerated and looks uncomfortable. I might be wrong.

Closeups of ones with the rolled edges. Unsure of exact nomenclature but more than one as in a bunch. Maybe in real life the edges are magic but they seem too extreme from pictures at least to me.

One of the big selling points of the second generation Sires was rolled fretboard edges. Having had the chance to sample a couple, the best way I can describe it is "it's what you don't notice that counts". I remember feeling the edge of my first-gen V9 every time I'd wrap my fingers around the neck. With the second-gens, I didn't feel that edge. I could fret notes and stay focused on my (amateurishly clumsy ) playing without the neck fighting back.

I have one and a half Classic Vibes.

One is a white Jazz body that will get an Affinity neck for now. It's still on the way and should be here later today.

This one started life as the natural maple 70s Jazz bass. Didn't care for the finish or the weight of the stock body so I swapped almost everything over to a Shell Pink body from Allen Eden and added the high mass bridge.

My 2022 Classic Vibe made in China arrived today. The stock strings are rubbish but this is a fabulous bass. The pickups are great, beautiful neck and old school P sound once I restringed her. Definitely a great backup for my more expensive P basses.

I thought that current production was in Indonesia and has been so since the '19 models. My '19 CV60's P is Indo. Did they relocate production back to China?

Lucky boy, you got a China treatment of quarter-sawn neck !! Change those tuners and this bridge and you have a nice bass.. How your fingerboard wood looking?

Only a few exemplarities are being made in Grand Reward, China. Lucky folks are the ones who get these!

Don't know about neck material but looks a lot like rosewood to me me? I might change the bridge but the body's very resonant as it is.

Quarter sawn neck and headstock look great, board looks rosewood and the threaded saddle low mass bridges are my favorite . Speaking from a former BAD ASS supporter . Nice bass .

Beautiful piece from China factory! And the fretboard just look awesome nice.
