I have changed the pickup of my 2021 CIC ‘60s CV to a ‘Fender Original Precision’ pickup. The difference ain’t huge but it suits me a little better. The tuners do their job as it should till now.
Awesome upgrade! And I hate to admit that the Original Precision pickup isn't much of a difference tonally but, if you're looking for something different you can't go wrong with the Pure Vintage P pickups.
Exactly, it’s a bit ‘tighter’ from string to string but the stock pickup is excellent. Can’t believe my Squier sounds better than my way more expensive basses.
Quoting myself when I was gently razzing a gear-snob while showing him one of my best Squier/Fender Franken-mutts;

I swear, I could almost see smoke coming out of his ears.
So my CV70's Jazz arrived so I went down to check it out.
The cosmetic fit & finish appears to be nice and it's very light in weight.
However, the neck was bowed as I feared. I quickly adjusted it flat for now just so the bow doesn't get any worse and be like my '19 CV60's Precision is with practically no remaining truss rod adjustment. The nut is free floating as well. Same as with the Precision. Not good signs.
That's 2 floating nuts in a row. Anyone else experience this? (I can only imagine the smartbutt comments that could come in).
The bridge appears to be ok but hopefully the tuners won't start disintegrating like the other ones did.
I was pressed for time so I didn't play it. It's still there because I still have $ left owing on it. If it's using the same pups as my '15 VM, I'll be changing them out too as they're pretty thin.
Once I finish paying it off, I'll post a NBD and see how it all plays out.

I have some Indonesian necks that seem to have soft neck wood. I bought a few necks from a dealer (for cheap) that they could not sell, the basses could not be set up without maxing out the truss nut. I add washers or spacers made from a drilled out and cut truss nut as needed.

I was thinking about using flat washers but idk what size the truss rod is. How thick did you make the spacers?

If you load a set of Labella flat for your CV60P , the tight upper mid voice from Ori P pup are nice matching with their low thumb tone ,
For roundwound bass string play along with pick, I prefer DR lorider nickel with Ori Pup for angry P vibe than SBP1.
I been use few P pup with different bass string experience on my previous CIC CV60P,. Fender pv63, Ori P, Ag4P60, Benson P, Tone rider TRP1, Donlis P, GZR, SPB1.....
My personal favour are PV63 with Ti flat and 2010 pre Mexico gold silk 7150 .
What year is your CV60P? Mine's a '19 with a poplar body. The 1st gen CV's were alder weren't they?
I ask as I've been thinking about getting a PV63 for mine as the stocker is underwhelming and a touch thin.
Year 2012, basswood body. Which a Indo CV owner mention they are suck wood here.
My PV 63 measure 12k ohm sharp and has same huge output as Benson P pup. I also found few pv63 owner report the pup sound thin, I do believe it could be FMIC manufactured issue.
2 of Ori p pup I been own measure 10.5K , but one of them has thicker tone.

I did. Never made much of an improvement. I have a Yamaha P pup here that I'll check out first.
