Hi, fellow, I got banded and not allow reply on CV club almost couple months, today I am free after received an email from Talkbass high chair people.
A joke on the CV sticker and I sharing the website which I found the CV sticker available to get cause me become guilty.

Anyway, classic vibe club long life !!!!

Wow, before I get banded, there are lot 70s look mod CV bass, now lot of nice and sexy CIC fiesta red CV60P out of water.

China version CV line still the best choice and great playing bass like 1k stuff.

My Hybrid Matt freeman neck change her dress again....

The VM PJ body, stock pickups ( 13K wound P pup sound better clarity than 12K PV63P ), Volume/Volume configuration , Fender Pure Vintage knobs , CTS pot , Aliexpress anodized black pickguard and indo CV60P's bridge. And my favorite flatwound bass string ~ Ti JF344.

Her name is ~ Poorman Am Performer PJ.

Sorry, i break the rules here, this bass not pure CV, but , another indo CV50P in white blonde will share here soon. Yes, my 4th Indo CV50P, but this time are USED.

Receive the used indo CV50p yesterday, after condition check and confirm the bass are completely stock , i separate it to clean.

The factory nut slot cut are terrible on this one compare to 3 unit i been own . The A string dint want to sing like bass tone, she more prefer sitar sound ....

Lot of poly paint left on neck pocket 50% upper area, i check the poly paint thickness ~ 0.8mm. The lower area just clean. Since i don't want spend much time to clean those paint, i cut a paper with same thickness to those poly painted, then cover the clean area to make entire neck pocket floor flat.

I do believe mistake on factory Pre-drill bridge holes which out of spec, then worker redrill/realign and screw in without fill/plug those mistake holes. And force screw in on right side hole and distroy the plate mounting hole.

So, that is what current indonesia made CV bass quality.

Hmmm, maybe most of them ??? in different or mix issue (hardware . pot.....).

i been own 3 indo CV50sP previously (1 sunburst , 2 blonde , all bought new ) , both blonde has fret levelling issue, the second one are the worst and open topic right here then bring me the first warning by moderator due to quality and body wood argument. Following get banded for 2 week ....

Those tuning machines quality are backward compare to CIC CV and indo VM line. The used VM PJ i bought a months ago has great working condition tuning machines, this bass build on 2014.

All of them include this used one, has weight between 4.3 ~4.4kg. I recall the lake placid blue CIC 50p with basswood body i been play weight around 3.8kg.

Another weird issue are all of them (except this used one still under inspect ) has dead spot on E string around G, G# and A.
Barely notable with roundwound bass string and Cobalt flat , since i only play flatwound especially love the la bella LTF4A tone on this CV50P , that dead spot became notable. She sound right and sustain hold well on first 2 second , then fade pretty quick compare to the rest.
To make entire sustain as short as the dead spot, mute foam add notable do help.

I will assembly this used Cv50P once nut slot issue solve, cavity shielded , pot clean , plug the mistake bridge holes , realign the magnet pole pieces (raise A and D) and hardware clean. After that, final check on fret wire, fret board, neck condition once my personal prefer setup done. Will report back.....

Honestly I had enough Indonesian basses to state that they mainly/mostly suck. Bad trussrods, bad planimetry, many mistakes... etc

Got my Indo 50P yesterday. Playing and sounding nice, will try it in a rehearsal with a band, tomorrow.
Humming not bad, better than I expected - using a wireless transmission improves it a lot.
It came with a lose pot and bad e string intonation.
I lowered the pup a bit on the E string side and the bass seems to sound better with the volume at around 80-90%.
Easy fixes, I have not yet found other issues - maybe hidden under the hood as Yahboy found.
It weighs about 100g less than my China 60 (basswood) - feels lighter.

I'm considering using Lo-riders (Sting choice?) or Sunbeams, something with less tension than the stock strings - any suggestions regarding that? I already have TI Flats on the 60s so brighter rounds on the 50s will be good optionality.

I love the Sunbeams, although I just tried some Ernie Ball Slinky's (on sale for $13 at music store in Newton MA) and I like those a lot, too. A little more tension than the DRs.

Why not migret the Ti flat to CV50P for a try ?
I found a great tone from few YouTube post.

I will move the Ti flat from Hybrid PJ for try too once the used CV50P fully assembly .

Could anyone with a fiesta red p bass let me know if your wiring has a 500k volume pot and a 250k tone pot? Went under the hood to install the original pickguard thanks to @Texican and noticed this. Wanted to see if this layout came stock on all the MIC CV '60s P basses from 2010-2015

Or could potentially be a mod that the previous owner had done that I wasn't aware of when I first had it. No complaints about the tone though, sounds beautiful as it stands!

All my CIC CV bass from 2012 till 2018 has stock alpha 250k split shaft mini pot.

But, there are mix 250k and 500k pot installed from factory found on discontinued Vintage Modified bass. My previous vm77 has 500k volume pot mix 250k tone pot

I love the Sunbeams, although I just tried some Ernie Ball Slinky's (on sale for $13 at music store in Newton MA) and I like those a lot, too. A little more tension than the DRs.

Just curious. Regular Slinkies or Super Slinkies?

I love it! This reminds me of when I showed some gear-snob one of my Projekts that used a Squier Standard P-Bass Special (Jazz-spec'd) neck. He was so baffled by how smooth the neck and it's frets felt that he asked me if I'd filed them down.

And I cannot, in good conscience, let a story like that go without some photographic evidence. (I only wish I could've snapped a pic of that guy after subtly telling him to go check his biases. I swear, it looked like smoke was about to start trickling out of his ears. )

Glad you got it! Regarding the potentiometer values, I replaced the stock wining with an Obsidian solderless wiring harness with 0.1uf capacitor, and a Bare Knuckle 65' pickup. Sorry… couldn't tell you what mine had in it.
