Like I said….. these basses sound good with flats or rounds. I like what I’m hearing !!:bassist::thumbsup::headphone:

The stock pickups are sooooo juicy !!:p

I even keep on the cheesy tort pick guard because its part of the charm of these original CV basses. I only wish that I had the Classic Vibe decal on my Pickguard. Love those decals. Might have to try and get one made.

The ultimate pbass Squier made , beautiful and wonderful.

My Indo CV50P surfer with fret issue again and volume pot failed/ scratching on tone pot after 6 months.
I bought a pair CTS pot and fender dome knob, sadly dint fit the control plate. I have no such electronic issue ,fret issue and pot unfit issue on previous CIC CV50P.

CIC Squier CV line are the Best!!!

I don't know how many "Crafted In China" Squier CV basses were made, that being said I have never heard of anyone that has had a chance to play one that have not been completely blown away with the fit, finish, feel AND playabilty of this particular line (2008-2014) unless you are not particularly fond of the tint gloss feel of the necks (some players don't vibe with them) other than that the "rumor" is that they were so well made they were cutting in heavily on the "Fender branded" bass market, enough so that they decided to discontinue this line, not sure if that is true or not but it is safe to say they are one of the finest bass models that this company has ever produced.

It's an interesting hypothesis, but personally, I don't think it's true. Before advancing it to the level of a working theory, I'd want to hear from someone who has experience in dealing with overseas factories, the contracts that are negotiated therewith, how long said contracts are to be fulfilled, can they be extended/terminated at will, etc...etc...

Besides, no matter how amazing the quality of the instruments, there are countless buyers who's biases would keep them from ever dropping money on something that didn't have the "Fender" name on the headstock, let alone an instrument that doesn't come from the U.S. of A., something I'm pretty sure FMIC can reasonably count on. :bored:

Moving from "rumor" to "pure fantasy land", could you imagine how kick-ass the Squier 40th Anniversary Series would be if they were made in the same factories as the first-gen Classic Vibes? That would be something special...and I already like what I've seen/felt/heard from the couple I've sampled recently! :drool: :thumbsup:

Yep just info from just various forum pages, I've read that the guitars from this line are also realy well made, don't know if there is any other articles/write-ups about it or the move to Indo.

I'm sure profit is the bottom line. Factories will build whatever Fender is willing to pay for...

I'm stoked to have a couple that I really enjoy playin. Some recent CV "Crafted In China" basses are showing up, the tint gloss on these seem to have a darker hue to them and I think the bridges are standard not high-mass/brass
Haven't had a chance to play one yet curious how they stack up. :thumbsup:

I have a new bass coming in on Monday. If it works out of me, Im going to let my CV60's P go. Ive wanted a good 5 string P for a long time. I really need that low B for the type of music that I play. if anyone is interested before list it for sale, let me know. It will come with Ti flats installed.

If the new bass works for me, I will list my CV60's P for sale on Tuesday.

Wow. I'm speechless. I just changed the new basses strings from what I think we're Ernie ball slinky's to labella light dtf. I swapped the strings adjusted the saddles to height and the bass is literally perfect. Didn't even have to touch the truss rod. First time in my life a setup was that simple. And action is at like 1.75 mm w no buzzing. Unreal. I get the hype now
