It'd be from my mom and dad. My dad got me a new phone and my mom got me movie passes and waterpark passes. I'm happy, I'll appreciate the bass more when I buy it.
If i were your mom i would have said that just to mess with you , but no big nor getting it , theres plenty out there.

I went to GC this afternoon looking for a CV in red to go with my blue 50's CV. I have a 35 buck coupon good on anything at GC this weekend. Alas, no bass. They did have a CV 50's. And they had a MIM P with basslines used for REAL cheap that looked brand new. But it didn't work when I plugged it in!! Wonder about that one!
I gig'ed one of those 6 months, they are outstanding I had zero problems and i was not "easy" on it.

I just came back from my local GC. They had one. It was okay I guess, but not as cool as it looks in the pictures.

Oh i know i worn the finish off the edge of the neck and some other love marks.
If i could go back in time I would keep it and route it for a darkstar, it would have been perfect for that.
I just got back from GC. Went to play American Standard and Geddy Lee Js. If the CV jazz came in Fiesta red, I would get that. Holy crap, the CV precision played amazingly... was not expecting that at all. Played side by side with the Roadworn series, blew it out of the water considering the price, except maybe on tone, but even there it was close..
I've been hearing a lot of complaints about the glossy neck and small frets on the '50s P... I LOVE THIS NECK. If I could, I'd put it on all my basses.
Yeah, I don't get the glossy neck hate that's so prevalent on here. Unless you have some kind of odd body chemistry it doesn't feel sticky to me at all. Feels much more "finished."
I only buy basses with vintage frets , if i can. I perfer them it makes playing an ease.
Well, wandered into GC on Friday and saw their flyer...first item on there was the CV jazz reduced from $359 to $279, so I pulled the trigger. Dude brought one from the back. No scratches or marks, but no sticker, so I should have been suspicious. I didn't need another case or gig bag, but I had to get it two hours home in the back of the car so I asked for the box...no box. I just got to play it a minute, but had played the model lots, so off I went. When I got home, I discovered a bad truss rod rattle that doesn't go away with more tension on the truss nut AND a bad tuner that slips every so many turns. I am pissed. Probably will blow out of these so that when I get back there won't be one to trade for. Oh well, I guess you get what you pay for.
