What all did you do? Was the Fender neck a drop in?

The neck needed the mounting holes redrilled, but fit perfectly.

Just to let everyone know.

I put a Squier CV 60's Precision neck on a MIM Classic Series 70's Jazz bass body. Dropped right in, not the tightest fit on the edges but tight enough.

After putting in CTS pots and a switchcraft jack my cord pops out when i plug my bass in, i will start to play and it pops out. I think the prong to the jack gets pushed up against the cavity so i may have to remove a little wood.

Count me in. Changed a couple of things so far added a switchcraft jack and a black beauty cap as well as cts pots.

that would look alot like an old telecaster i used to have...

i might go with a vintage white on my 50 P when i get the guts to refinish it.

did you completely strip the old finish down to bare wood or did you just paint over the old finish?

Just scuffed it and reshot it.

Nothing to it, really. The new finishes are easy to scuff enough to hold another coat of paint.

You can't mess it up to bad to fix.

I did this with very fine sand paper... made the neck much more playable

If I could find one that was this color, I"d be inclined to buy it. The ones I"ve seen have been more Pepto-Bismol-ish.

I picked up a fiesta red 60s CV P bass at a Guitar Center near Atlanta two days ago.

The color did seem a bit "pinker" than the original fiesta red:

This was probably due in part because of the cool white fluorescent lighting in use throughout the store.

It would be great if someone could post a few photos of the fiesta red CV taken outside in direct sunlight so that we could get a true idea of the color.

BTW, I also tried out a Squier VM Precision while at GC and I really prefer the neck and feel of my CV much more.
