Also I am waiting for my Fender thumbrest...

can you post an A/B comparision on the '62 RI pickup when it arrives?

i'm really interested in that, because i consider swaping the pickup too.

btw: the fender thumbrest ist 99% identical with the squier. it doesn't fit that well. i have one and tried it.

Sure, I will try to record it into the computer both pickups. (Don't expect me to be a wondrous bass player)

Now I am all curious about the thumbrest. (I lost mine during the switching of my pickguard)

the screws are not straight into the wood. they have an angle, but you can install it.

I was going to do that before I got rid of my 60's P. My guess would be yes it would work.

I've done it, the swap went very smoothly. Just took a little bridge saddle adjustment is all. I kept the P body/J neck and sold the J body/P neck.

Thanks! Just called Fender in Scottsdale and got a guy on the phone after two rings. Wow, a live human!!
He confirmed as well that the swap should work

I just went back and re-bought the 60's P bass I sold back to GC back in Sept. I've just missed it like crazy. I don't know what I could have been thinking.

Count me in!.. I too am a proud owner of a white and tort. CV jazz. Got it 5 or 6 weeks ago when MF was running 20% of anything Fender. $274 out the door and I adore it!
