Not questioning your taste, just interested in your reasons for choosing the top hat knobs.

Great overall mod theme...best I've seen yet.:bassist:
Ah yes, why THOSE knobs? They are Jaguar knobs of course. Much like jazz bass knobs but slightly larger.
The theme:

Oh, that's interesting. So it's almost like a subvariant for the 50s P-Bass.

Correct in 1951 the first P came out and had no contours just like a telecaster. Then plays complained and back then fender listened to players:D and they added the contours in late 53 or early 54, i think they did not change the tele because the strat came out and was suppose to be an "upgrade" with the contours.

i could go on :)

Go for it. I'm here all night. ;-)

haha well thats actually about all i know for 50's fender i think the contour design went from 54-56 and in 57 they switched to contour but with the split P pickup and not the single coil found in the CV.

So i think its simple called the classic vibe 50's because it has some classic vibe to it of the 50's but some things of course are not period correct like the finish , bridge etc.

Yes, that's my impression, too. The CV series invokes the old-fashioned design but also provides certain advantageous upgrades.

Personally, I'm just loving the Chinese-made CV 60s P. It feels and plays so beautifully and I adore the color. I also want a rosewood fingerboard because my jazz has maple. If only they made it in medium scale I would have bought one by now. :scowl:

damn good deal on a CV free shipping! no relation to the auction but if i did not spend what little cash i had on a guitar yesterday this would be mine! I always find deals like this , the reason why it has little bids is how he worded the title and spelt squier wrong

I think it was a great deal, too! But I'm biased because it's gettin' delivered to my front door for $202.50! I was waiting for someone to outbid me in the last 2 seconds (as usual) ...but it never happened. Looks like I'll qualify for the CV club in a few days. :bassist:
