yeah i did not lose any money and i let the kid play 2 of my basses both priced the same and he wanted the CV so i sold it to him. He is 12 and allready played double bass and can read music , he will be a pretty good player I told him of TB to ;)

Wow... i wish i knew the joys of bass at age 12. I was playing piano then tho... so that actually ended up helping for playing bass, so not completely worthless :smug:

Squier CV60 itself has awful tone and sound. You must lot it.

If you play Squier CS60 and Fender 62 RI (or CS 64 jazz), you can't feel like changing the pickup. It's really gorgeous.

Oh i know and a CV for a first bass is killer who gets an axe that nice for a first

Actually, my CV 60s Precision is my first axe. At the age of 12 I was playing tuba and by the age of 16 tuba and double bass (tuba: good. double bass: poorly).

As a side question: would changing out the tuners to Fender vintage or reverse tuners hold tune better or longer than the stock tuners? Not that the stock tuners are much of a problem.

Yeah, my first bass was a Yamaha 170RBX. For a starter bass it's great, but it would have been sweet to have a CV. I plan on putting some sweet upgrades into the Yamaha however. Maybe one of these days i'll get a CV, but i've got two basses right now that I need to get some good playing time into and get some mods put on.

The idea that cheaper tuners slip and go out of tune is one of the common misconceptions on TB. Unless you have a defective tuner it is NOT going to slip and go out of tune. If you have properly strung the bass, and properly seated the strings, your CV should stay in tune as well as any other bass. Cheaper tuners generally have a coarser tuning ration and are often stiffer to turn; this can sometimes cause a skippy feel when tuning and make it harder to get the bass precisely in tune. However, the CV tuners are perfectly fine, but I'm sure Schaller, Grover, Hipshot, etc would be happy to take your money. A lot of people, I think, just look for excuses to mod their instrument.

If it didn't have that stupid heart/bat/whatever the heck thing on the body I might be tempted. Does it even have his name on it? If it does i'm sure that wouldn't be too hard to get rid of or hide.

Well i got it cheap because it has a HUGE chip on the back , it played awesome though and is brand new . I am returning a defective ATK i bought i needed a bass since my band plays everyday.

Yes it has his name:( haha on th eback of the headstock , the bat on the 12th fret and the bat on the body. I may trade the neck for a rosewood P bass neck from a VM. Then maybe put a sticker over the bat or strip it down. Eithier way its worth 130$ to me just as a solid/dorky back up.
