I have even spelled it Squire inadvertently in the past and yet I am unrepentant.:D

When changing the pups on the CV Jazz, should the pots/caps be changed? If so, what sizes should they be changed too?

Looking to do some tone altering on my CV but have never changed pickups on a Squier.

Thanks for the help!

I didn't change anything but the pickups on my jazz. It comes with 250 pots, so you don't really need to change them. I changed the cap on my P bass to a .47 which made it a bit darker sounding. Not necessarily better though. But to answer your question, you don't need to change anything.

Hi everybody!
Finally I layed my hands on the new Squiers: I tested the CV50 P, CV60 P, CV60 J, VM70 J and VM P (the Tele-like). My original purpose was to test and buy a Mexican J (olympic white-tortoise pickguard), but when I compared it to the cv60 J my ears could tell no difference at all! Believe me, I'm no beginner (I'm a pro, and play bass since 1985), a real 60's bass would be the Real Choice, but if you want a nice toy at a very low price you can't miss these ones. I bought the Squier, and honestly I do say that the only difference with the mexican is the logo on the headstock. The sound is the same, the bridge is much better, and the price is exactly the half.
Count me as a member of the club, or maybe count me twice: why refusing to get another nice instrument (not simply a toy) for that price? I think I'll go there again and get me the CV60 P too (weird vintage color, great vintage sound).
It sounds good to me, now, but maybe I'll think to change the electronics later: I'll ask for suggestions, then.

Greetings from Italy.

they seem to vary a bit to me. At GC the on i tried was like a baseball bat. So pretty, I still ordered one from MF used... that neck was great ( and pretty flame too), but not as described so back it went. I got a new one from MF last week and the neck is less "battish" than the GC one I tried but not as fast as the used MF. BUT I am still in love.. So i have the CV 50's p added to my CV 60's J.... VM P TB next!

Yeah, the CV 50'sP neck is a bit of a wider departure from the J-style necks that I am accustomed to. I suppose that a new nut would alleviate some of that, but I have looked at what a Warmoth replacement neck would do, and will probably go there in time: 1.5" nut width, vintage gloss tint, 21 medium jumbo frets (there is the fingerboard extention to high E on the G-string that can come in handy).
