I think it was a great deal, too! But I'm biased because it's gettin' delivered to my front door for $202.50! I was waiting for someone to outbid me in the last 2 seconds (as usual) ...but it never happened. Looks like I'll qualify for the CV club in a few days. :bassist:

Good job! so glad a TB'er got it i saw it had 1 bid of 199.99$ and i seriously sat there looking at what i could sell to buy it since i had just got a great deal on a surf green tom delonge strat:hiding:

but for 202.50$ thats really good it looked new;)

Tone alert: Replace the pots with full size 250K pots and .047 capacitor under your control plates.

Please trust me on this one. It will make a world of difference in improving the CV '53 Pbass tone.

:hyper:
Done and done!
I ordered and installed a wiring kit from Guitar (Bass) Parts Resource last October, along with an SD Quarter Pounder.

I managed to cram it all into the cavity without needing to remove any wood. It's a good thing too, as I neglected to check the fit before I lined all the cavities with copper foil!
:hiding:
I can't say if the pots and cap made a difference because I replaced the pup as well, but it sounds 200% better to me.:D

Count me in! I am a CV owner twice over now. I kept the 60's P for a week and took it back to GC in exchange for the CV Jazz. I just couldn't get used to the neck even though I loved the bass. Totally digging the Jazz though!! I'm so happy I made the exchange. :D

now i need a pickup and a tortoise or black pg.

and after some reasearch i think i go for a dimarzio dp122 cream :D
the natural one is going to be my 80s metal bass ;)
while the sonic blue also gets a tortoise and becomes my choise for blues.
it has some TIflats on it and just sounds so sweet.

Ah there it is, my "new" Jazz Body :hyper:
can't wait for it

Thanks guys,

I really like it very much. The sound sits so well in the bandmix (guitar, bass, drums). Just awsome.

Do any of you know which strings come with the CV basses in stock?

cheers,
ralf

btw, I have a CV 50s P too, and although it doesn't have as much flame as yours, it is a wonderful bass, and an absolute steal for the money!

Seems Squier is using those flamed necks some more.
I have a special so it's slightu offtopic...but what the heck:D
