Squier/Doom Bassquiers 49: Squiers The Beef?

CLUTCH covers gig tonight 3 hours away in Yarmouth, NS. We're headlining the first night of an annual metal fest they have there. Kind of weird to have a cover band play, but the rest of the band is from that area. Bad weather and "surprise" provided backline. Wish me luck, haha!

My cab was way to close to the wall, pulled it away and yep I guess I was muffling the ports ont he back, made me smile to hear it. Took it off of craigslist, not for sale.:hyper:
Allso the Wren and Cuff Pickle Pie, dig it, Swollen Pickle without the stutter/notes drops off with tempo.
Thanks for the tips on both those things men!!!
And loving the Warwick. I had a Corvette passive swamp ash the jazz pick up one, loved the body and build, hated the pickups and sold it. So nice to have another Warwick.

Good to hear. In open space the location of the ports does not matter (front or back), it should all sound the same. There is a concern about other boundary interactions though. Rear ported cabs need to be about 6"-12" away from the wall.

Morning everybody. I was determined to be in a good mood today. It's friday after all, and we have an awesome show booked tonight. I checked my email and there's one from guitar player/singer dude. He doesn't want to sing in the band anymore. At all. He says he'll do tonight's show and that's it. We have nothing booked (officially), but he says he won't sing at another gig.

That's fine if he doesn't want to do it and just focus on guitar. But now we have this horrible headache of trying to find a lead singer and until we do, NO GIGS.

Tonight is our third show, we're starting to get a following, venues are noticing us, our recording with dude's vocals is nearly done and now we have to ****ing stop because he won't tough it out and continue to sing until we find a replacement.

He acknowledged that it will probably take a long time, especially since we don't want a sludge-style scream/growler. He says if it takes too long we can continue to write new stuff and be a studio only band. I have no interest in that. I can't devote that much free time to a band that will never leave the basement. So I told him if that happens, I'm going to start looking for other bands, or start something on my own.

We'll hash it out tonight before the show, but jesus christ I'm pissed off.

just write songs that don't "need" vocals :)

but in all seriousness, I'd ask him to tough it out until you find a replacement. did he give a good reason why he doesn't want to sing, like he has throat cancer or something?
