Thanks you Sir! Probably a silly question for you experts but, any issue bumping the stock strings (40-95) to my favorite Daddario EXL170's 45 -100? Not a huge change...

The larger strings should be fine. I bumped mine up to a .109 I think. The potentially different overall string tension MAY require a little tweak to the truss rod, to compensate.

Good to know, you can't tell how robust the necks and truss rods are till you put them to the test. Thanks!

I actually use 45-105 on both of mine. LaBella deep talkin' flats on one and DR Hibeams on the other. Never had a problem. In fact, my first one had an intonation issue at the third fret until I put the heavier gauge strings on it.

I'm looking to replace the stock strings with flats... absolutely LOVE my 760FL'S on my Duck Dunn.... looking at the SS strings, the Labellas were listed as for use with a Mustang, or a string through body..

Please educate me on this.. I'd love some on my jag

I took a long scale set of chromes (45-105) and just cut them to length. They've been on there for almost a year with no issues. They sound and feel great. As for the neck, I have noticed the bass is very sensitive to our FL humidity. There are times where mid gig the Eb at the first fret of the D string will begin to fret out. On those occasions I switch to a different bass and then loosen the truss rod on the jag about a quarter turn the next day. It would appear string tension is not an issue.
