Ah, makes me wish I had gotten the red one now. I may just have to buy a second one.
I think all the colours are nice. But I love my black one and the way headstock and body match.
I have 2 ss jaguars I bought a year ago and they have replaced my long scales.
Currently these are the only basses I have now and I'm totally happy with that.
I would like a number please and look forward to being a part of the club.
Here's my two jags. The CAR one is strung piccolo at the moment...

I set all my basses up the same, pretty low action, fairly flat neck. I don't measure, it's all done by what feels and sounds "right" to me.
And 142 for you.

Sorry for the delay, busy weekend. dewbass4 pretty much covered setup. These things are mod monsters, so experimentation is recommended.
An observation:-
From time to time on some threads there appears to be the notion that the Jag SS does not produce much low end because it's a shorty.
I beg to differ.
When I put flats on mine, it immediately grew a large pair of testicles and developed some serious low end......
And I use the mid-body split pickup by itself...never use the bridge pickup......

I have to support you on this. Mine is wearing GHS Precision Flats and has plenty of low end and enough bite to be a solid rock bass. I'm curious to see how it sounds with LaBella's FL760s. Naturally it will take years with the GHS flats before I get that chance . I also only use the Precision pup on this bass.
If I A/B mine against my Jazz, I do notice that it doesn't have as much low end as the Jazz. Now, I've totally rewired my for stereo, but lately I've been thinking of converting it to V/T per pickup with a toggle switch. That might cure it.
Maybe you JAG SS experts may can help me out. I started reading starting from part 1, then skimming part 2, and by the middle of part 3 I am not sure what I have missed!
I am thinking of a SS to modify to my tastes (actually I was thinking of a Warmoth build, but I think it would take me too long and work out too expensive), so I am looking for a bass to "base" this on
I have a regular scale Jaguar, which I like, so I am thinking that the SS version may be the ticket, however, there are a couple of things I would like to know.
How small is the body of the Jaguar SS in comparison to the regular scale?
Would there be enough room to route the back for an electronics compartment? If so, would this produce a neck dive that even ultralights won't fix?
What is under the pickguard? Is there a large ugly route?
I was thinking along the lines of routing the back for electronics (I want to add a preamp), routing the top for a couple of soapbar or musicman pickups, and then covering the top with a laminate of some kind.
Any opinions and input would be greatly appreciated!
