Squier Jaguar Short Scale Club Part 3

Was thinking of putting Gotoh Res-O- Lites on my Jag SS..............anyone recommend the correct Gotoh part number ?............there's quite a few Res-O-Lite tuners on the Gotoh site...

My Jag SS has almost zero neck dive ........but I want to get it to sit at about a 45 degree angle....

I don't like having to weight the body of the bass at all.......and I'm not moving any strap buttons.

The straps I use are very good at holding a bass in it's position.

I'm just looking to get the angle a bit higher on the neck.

Not sure I can help but when I put a Xtender on mine I got a BT1, which has a standard Fender post.

How much weight exactly are we saving between the stock tuners and the ultra lites?

Guessing the stock ones come in at around 120 grams, maybe............I'll have to check.....

ok so for example a Schaller light weight tuner comes in (as advertised) around 50 grams, that reduces the total weight at the headstock by about 7 to 8 ounces that's almost a half a pound... Am I correct?

Im thinking half a pound off the headstock would make a nice difference!
Funny thing, couple of years ago I returned the Jaguar SS on two different occasions, the head dive was a turnoff for me.
Couple of weeks ago while browsing thru one of the chain guitar stores, I saw a black one, picked it up, put it on my lap and it almost balanced...what?
I'm wondering if the body is heavier on newer ones? BTW, took it home.

My black one has slight neck dive, but not more than the friction of any strap can hold back. I am usually pretty allergic towards neck dive, but this is tolerable and I use it a lot for home practice.

Serial number? You can also see a date by removing the neck off the body.

It seems to be a really popular bass. I think they could use a few extra finishes for it too.
I'm not sure how I feel about the painted headstock though.

In black the matching painted headstock works perfectly. That is my main reason for choosing the black one.

Wow, that's pretty interesting, thanks. So mine was made 2013 - I think I bought it in August/September '13 so it was really new by the time I got my mitts on it!

EDIT: almost forgot the reason for finding that info out - mine does neck dive pretty badly, but a good leather strap helps a lot.

Hey Evil - Happy New Year!
I'm with ya on the white/tort option that and a maple/maple neck with a natural headstock would hook me on another purchase.

For those keeping record - mines a black 2011 with very little head dive. I modded the guts with a John East preamp which added a bit of weight to the body so that probably helped a little. If I was really concerned about balance on one of these I'd put a precision ash tray over the bridge and Hipshot ultra light tuners on the headstock. I'm sure it wouldn't dive after that.
