No problem, i was sceptical that going from a .105 to a .110 would make that much of a difference but it really did, i would recommend using 110-50 strings in a brand that is known to be relatively high tension
Macmanlou and I should exchange serial numbers. If we are ever with our basses in the same location it will help telling them apart.

I've had my SS Jag for about a year and it's time for some mods. Duncan pups (most likely, haven't pulled the trigger yet), and stacked pots. The pots (OEM) and control plate (used) are on the way. I have experience soldering, mostly power cables for motion picture cameras etc. Having trouble tracking down a wiring diagram for the VM Jag bass with stacked pots. I've found some but nothing that seems straight from Fender/Squire. I've found a few photos, the wiring seems more intricate than standard pots. The thing that has me concerned are the resistors. What type? Exact placement in the scheme etc. Any advice from someone who has done this mod or something similar. Considering having an experienced tech do the work. My soldering skills are pretty good, my knowledge of electronics, not so much.

Hey, I didn't know there was a Jaguar thread. I'm about to have a Rondo bass uke 24" scale modified to look like a Jaguar, Olympic white and tortoise pickguard. The P pickups are just covers, it has a piezo pickup in the bridge. Going to call it a Juguarlele.
Finally ready to swap out for the stacked pots. I'm starting from scratch, new OEM stacked pots and control plate. Can't seem to find a wiring diagram with type and placement of resistors etc. Any thoughts or suggestions.Stacked pots fit just fine. There's more room under that plate than you think.
Can't think of anything off the top of my head. I'd run some searches over in the Pickups and Electronics forum.
Just joined the Talk Bass forum (how do you join this 'club'?) Recently got mine in Candy Apple Red. Love the colour.
I don't know much about it, so I did it the easy way: Squier Jaguar Short Scale Club Part 3
I used the knobs and control plate from a trashed out older 34" Squier Jaguar. Just dropped right in.
I still don't like the J pup too much, but I'm not replacing it.
I've since gotten the new Mustang P/J bass, and I like it much better.
If you're considering doing a bunch of mods to your Jag SS,
you might want to consider the Mustang option.
Best to try one out first though.
Hopefully your post should take care of joining. Generally though you just "ask for a number" and the powers that be allocate it. You can then include it as a part of your sig if you wish.
Post a picture of your bass and ask for a number. Simple as that.
Note to all:
Yes, both a pic AND the number request in the post. Not trying to be a hard A$$ just trying to make sure that you really do want a number as opposed to simply showing off your baby.

This is such a clever instrument. I really like what you've done with the Jaguarlele. Makes me want to go back to my little grass shack in Kealakekua, Hawaii, and be with all the kanes and wahines that I knew long ago. No kidding. Christmas '84, Fort DeRussy on Waikiki. Fresh dark rum from Maui and a handful of limes and stay away from the Shore Patrol...
