I bought one of these recently as my first bass from sweet water and it seems unusually heavy, weighed in at ~8.4 pounds on a kitchen scale, did I get a dud or are the new ones heavier? Depending on what it costs to ship it back I might as well sell it and buy one in person.

That does seem a bit heavy. On the bright side, though, it probably has no neck dive whatsoever.
