This isn't the exact one, I will get pics later in the week. But just so you get the idea:

My wife ordered this from sweetwater for my birthday(which was last month). They were backordered so it didn't come until last night. As soon as it came out of the case I strung it with Medium Chromes. I still haven't had a chance to plug it in, but the first impressions are good.

Fit and Finish is right up there with my VM J and P. In fact this bass is more comfortable than either of them. Set up is perfect. I have always heard that the P-special is a best of both worlds bass and now I know what that means.

I have always loved the vintage burst/tort guard/rosewood board combo and now that I have it I love it more. Looks absolutely SICK in person. I love how you can see the grain in the burst. So even if the pickups are junk, this thing is worth upgrading.


Rob is a happy boy right about now.



edit: Oh yeah and this thing is super light too. I haven't had it on the scale but it feels lighter than my VM P bass.

Picked up a Squier VM J-bass with a nice natural finish / maple neck in a trade, intending to use it as a backup for my upgraded MIM J-bass, and ended up liking it better! Strongly considering gigging with this thing... love the fast neck and Marcus Miller look. Planning to put a Badass II on it and give it an A/B shot in practice before we start playing out a lot more in October. What a pleasant surprise!

This is my newest acquisition. It's a P-Bass Special ('99 model.) And no it ain't PINK! HAHAHA!

So far, the only addition is a Badass II bridge. Future improvements will include pickups, and a brass or bone nut.

BTW, I have my VM Jazz sitting here now! Man whatta bass! The neck is superb and the bass kicks! I love the pups! Other than changing the knobs to the black Jazz knobs, I plan no mods for this bass!

And I know, no pic = no bass, so here is a pick of it with the Bass I call Blondie...oh, BTW this one is called Mojo Jojo.....

Oh it does. My pickguard looks more like real tort than this picture. Its pretty sharp.

That's one NICE looking bass....If they sold it here in Norway I think I would have bought one....But they don't

This beauty started life as a Squier Affinity P. It's pictured with DiMarzio dual-blades but I swapped those out for American Fender pickups. I couldn't be happier. It's a slap machine!

Like a 1/4" all around the original pup, but i used a template. and thanks for the compliment

Here's my Deluxe Active Jazz V that I picked up from TB'er FretlessGuy. He installed the control plate and BA Bridge. I don't need to do anything else but play it.
