Local shop has a Precision Special Five, new old stock--metallic green with white pickguard--for $269.00. Few minor scratches on the back, plastic film still on the pickguard.

Considering it. Opinions?

Ive got a 4-string Squier P-Bass, Corvette blue with white pickguard. The neck has a really sweet twist in it and it is wearing 4 year old strings. Sounds like dead crap next to my brand new ibanez, which made me realize that I really should put new strings on it! I will be getting a picture up soonly, so count me in

my new squier 50's bass came in today and I like it. It feels just as good as my American PBass and sounds great too. I think I'll be playin' this one alot. Just need some flatwound strings. It also has what looks like a Gotoh 201 bridge. I'll probably change that out for a vintage style Fender bridge...

My first bass was a red Squier with a white pick guard, but when I got my new Ibanez, I defretted my Squier and got some flatwound strings. Now it sounds better than ever!

Looking forward to your review of this one. I've been shopping for a '51-style bass for awhile now. I called my local GC today but they don't have this one in stock yet. I'd really like to directly compare this one to a Fender '51 RI. Maybe someday I'll find a shop with both of them.

Nope, it's not mine. I was quoting SRT80, asking for his review. I'm partial to sunburst, too, but I'm considering one of these on price and reputation alone.
