I have an Indo made CV60's P in Oly White, and I'm quite happy with it. The neck feels wonderful and plays great, after I took some of the gloss off the back. All I did after that, was change out the tuners(which was my preference, nothing wrong with the stock ones) with Pre-CBS reverse style ones, and added the covers. I have strung it up with Labella 760FL flats and it sounds great. I've never played the China ones, but I've never had a problem with mine.

Squier Precision CV 60's: what is it really worth?

Just picked up the Sonic Blue. Here’s how it’s set up, honestly doesn’t look much was done but the feel of this bass felt very different compared to the others I’ve played from other GCs. Maybe this GC location got a good batch of quality Squiers as the others didn’t feel as good in my hands.
Anyways, can’t wait! This is exactly the kind of P bass I was looking for in the tone department. The Fender MIMs and American Pro II weren’t doing it for me when I’ve played them but this inexpensive Squier did the job and some!

Pickups height, Saddle height, string spacing..... i believe your "Ultimate" bass need a basic setup first.
Congrats !! Enjoy!! It doesn’t take a lot of money to get a good PBass these days.
What strings are you planning on going with?
I’m keeping the daddarios that came stock but I might change them out to DR LoRider Steels
So I got curious and wanted to know how my leftover Chromes would sound on the new bass. After I gave it a setup at home, I might just end up keeping the chromes on the bass. I really like how responsive the chromes are with the Alnico pickups!
I also want to address how noisy the pickups sound when I play at home. I took the bass to my local GC and don’t get as much hum (but still a bit of hum) coming from the pickups. Hum goes away just a tad when I make contact with the strings and machine heads.. Might need to look into the wiring and see what’s going on.

I have a set of Fender Stainless Steel Flats 45-100 on my CV 60's Precision. It's my "blues" bass.

I think those are Fender strings as they also have colored ball ends. DA’s are different colors than those.
What about the "Crafted in China" Classic Vibe 60's jazz? Are these as sought after and as good as the P's?
Not only they’re sought after, they’re amazing quality instruments that are on the level (even better) of Fender MIMs
Would one of these Indo CV 60 P basses be decent enough for practicing purposes when I am away visiting friends and family in another country? Say 2-3 times per year for a good couple of weeks each time? Or shall I go with a MIM P bass? Although a MIM P bass might be a bit extravagant for about 6-8 weeks worth of practice and no gigs, or at least not likely... Thanks
I gig regularly with mine. I did replace the pickup and added the covers, but the feel and the playability are great
More than decent, every one I own or have had my hands on are perfectly gig-able, fine players.
There is currently a shop on reverb advertising a used "B" stock Squier 60's Vibe Precision for $950 on Reverb, you read that right $950.
I messaged the seller and inquired how they arrived on that price as a Fender Player Precision is way cheaper than that, their response was it has a custom paint job and aftermarket pickguard and tone/volume knobs.
I kid you not, check it out it's an active listing on Reverb right now.
