Ya know --- I haven't gone there yet.

I will need to get one for myself, let me research that a little and I'll get back to ya - OK?

I just recently learned that the bridge cover can be on either way - it was a hangover from the old days when there was a rubber dampener in the cover and to take it off the strings, some guys just reversed the bridge cover.

Oddball and information of the arcane fer sure.

I saw that in a vintage telebass video somewhere on youtube. Someone explaining that and showing off the foam.

I really think, of all fender products, those have the best looking chrome cover. And useful too, being accessable somewhat from the back.

Okay, I don't know if it's because I've not played a bass for 4 months or whether the Squier is just that good. But I am LOVING this bass.

I just wish I could get the action a bit lower without the crazy buzz. (I have horrible fret buzz on the E string after the 12th fret).

My main as of right now. It's been absolutely fantastic to me, and I picked it up for a cool $160. I met the guy selling this beast at Best Buy, right under a brand new VM Jazz selling for $320. :bassist:

I had that too on my SX Ursa 1, but only on the one fret (the 13th). It appeared to be a high fret as was suggested. I carefully tapped it a couple of times with a hammer (after putting masking tape on it to prevent it getting marked up) and that seemed to fix it.

There appears to be two different tuners on the vm jazz. one looks the same as a mim tuner with a rounded bottom plate and one looks about the same without the rounded bottom. I have the hipshot hb7 ( replacement for MIM) on my vm. I had to redrill the mounting holes but they almost line up. I had the flat bottom ones you might not need to drill if you have the MIM style.

On this thread, http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f8/squier-perfect-fit-replacement-parts-mega-thread-612616/index5.html page 5, post 83, he used HB1's and were a perfect fit. However the tuners on that CHINESE CV are a bit different looking than on our Jazzes as far as the pegs go. I measured mine against Hipshot's spec sheet and they look like a near perfect fit, screws and all.

I am having trouble sourcing them, twice having orders cancelled by Canadian supplier's saying Hipshot cannot drop ship them to me because of low stock levels. The last guy an American supplier refuses to confirm whether he can obtain them before I order from his site. Tired of hoping for accurate and timely refunds to my credit card, so he can bite it! Customer service means nothing to him and his last email was insulting. Is there a possibility that any American cousin out there could pick some up and ship them to me in Canada?

His last email, and all I'm asking is that he confirm that Hipshot has them :
"Did you not understand my last reply to you? If you place your order with me
I will place that order along with my other customer's orders with Hipshot.
When the parts arrive at my shop I can ship the HB1 tuners you want to you.
If that's a problem then you do have a problem because that's the way it's
done. My newest order is going into Hipshot at 9AM Monday morning. You may
want to be on that bus or it'll be whenever I decide will be the next order.

If you want them then place your order."
