Squire Classic Vibe p-bass?

Anyone have any experience with squire Classic Vibe's. I ran into a p-bass today that really seemed to sound and feel quite nice and I've been looking for a cheap p-bass.

any opinions? are there better squires to be had?

LOL, no offence but are you serious? Have you looked for any threads yet?

Anyway, as everyone else has said, fantastic basses (not just at this price point). Ive sold off all my other basses and have just my CV P and CV Jazz left and they are doing a wonderful job.
I just wish the 60s P came in better colours. Im hoping Squier will update this model like they are the 50s P.

Musician's Friend, in the listing for the Squier CV 50's P-bass. Keep in mind, there is no info, just a pic, but, as I said earlier, this is typical of Musician's Friend to put up pics of gear that hasn't been officially announced with no info or release dates. Usually about two months before release.

I fell in love with the cv p bass I tried out the red one a while back while trying out a cab i ended up buying. Now I just need to come up with the cash for the cv p bass. The stock pickup was great and neck felt very comfortable. Ill definately be gigging it as soon as I get one.

The necks are fantastic (IMO). I love vintage sized frets and compared to the 2 Lakland Duck Dunn's i've had in the past my CV P with CV Jazz neck on it plays a bit nicer and sounds just as good, although it doesn't look half as nice as the DD.

I have a Fender 62 original pup coming this week for it, and im planing on putting a black PG on it once the pup has arrived (it wont fit my current Wizard pup) but for the price im happy to put up with a bass im not 100% on the looks.

If you like the CV, get it. If you try it and it's not really your thing, try the Amber VM.

oh god....gas....noo...finally..they came out with what I've been wanting....looks like they finally added the vintage tint to the neck too, thats another thing I hated about the other CV 50 was the bone white neck.

Just ordered the Butterscotch CV 50's from MF. They say it has been shipped, so they have stock now. I am beginning to think this is some kind of MF FSR bass and not a standard Squier color.

I started a thread on a UK based Bass forum about this bass and someone has said they have seen a (as yet unreleased) press release that has this bass on it so i think it might be on general release soon. Along with a couple of other new models by all accounts.

I think im going to be getting a new CV soon.

I was at my local GC last weekend with the intention of picking up a CV P-bass, but they didnt have a Squier in stock.

I asked the salesman why, and he replied that they cut back on the Squiers because they couldnt sell the pricier Fenders they had in stock.

Sounds about right for GC doesnt it?:scowl:

Sweet, I just ordered the Butterscotch! Love that look. Squier has been doing a great job lately.

I love the idea of a butterscotch CV, but do you guys think it's going to look right on a basswood body? The originals were ash which has a strong grain pattern that shows nicely through a semi-transparent finish. Basswood's grain is much more subdued.

They may do what they did with the VM Natural finish Jazz and amber P-bass, go with a different wood for looks (maple in the case of the VM's instead of the usual agathis)

On the last Police tour, Sting plays his p-bass which about the same as the cv 50 through Ampeg SVT, sound just amazing. Yours through tha BA300 should sound quite close!

Haha that's the funniest thing I've ever heard. Sounds like that salesman is a few quarters short of a dollar.
