Honestly, no mention of Traynor in a Doom thread? Traynor is the originator of Doom Gear with its "Super Custom Special" head and "Big Ben" cabs, predating Ampug.

The Aguilar Tonehammer 500 might be something to consider.....you can get some pretty dirty sounds from the onboard drive circuit. I saw Billy Gould with Faith no More using them in London earlier in the month and he sounded HUGE!
