i think this album is great. John plays some really great stuff, and is probably at his best on this album.

Flea plays a lot of cool stuff as well, and I just generally think its an album full of just really good songs.

I think their grammys are well deserved for this album

oh! and to whoever mentioned a roland guitar synth, john runs all his guitars through his doepfer a100 modular synth for synth guitar sounds.

and there are a lot of tape loops on this album! john went through the whole album in a guitar player issue that i have somewhere, and explained what he did on every track. maybe ill dig up some scans if anyone is interested

Do i think they deserved the Grammys?
yes... it was definitely one of the best albums released this year (at least as far as popular music goes)

Do i think it's their best album?
no... although it may be better than by the way, the older stuff will never be topped. Their sound has changed, which is fine, but they will never be able to bring the same energy they used to have into their new music.

agreed... save for a couple decent songs, by the way was a disgrace.

I loved BTW it had alot more listenable songs. Dosed, BTW, Can't Stop, Venice Queen, Don't forget Me.

Personally, IMO i thing Mothers Milk and Blood Sugar Sex Magic were there best albums. the others are good but i think these two were the best.
