Most Americans (and I think most other nationalities, too) take far more pride in their sports teams than in their states or countries. It baffles the living crap out of me. BTW, isn't pride a mortal sin?

I have a couple relatives who live down in Alabama, Georgia, and Florida. They're lovely people, and the area is nice, but there are a whole bunch of reasons why I wouldn't want to move down there.

Too much hospitality and good food from a variety of cultures as well as that pain-in-the-ass laid back lifestyle. I hate it, too.

It did but other than that. It snowed once in like 04 or something. I don't quite remember what grade I was in (sad cause I should have good memory) so I have no idea when it was.

Like DigMe said, it can get pretty friggin cold. Freezing rain isn't that uncommon here in the Houston area during the winter.



Texas is cool. I like it, but I won't go around saying we're the best or whatever. Though, I live about three miles away from this thing, which is pretty cool.

I cross that bridge in the background everyday to work. A daily reminder of how much of a badass Sam Houston and his men were.

I live in Pa and it is pretty important in the grand scheme of things. Also being by Pittsburgh increases regional pride of most.

I like to think of PA as a safe haven between Ohio, West Virginia, and New Jersey. But PA does have lots of loonies.

There are quite a bit of fools here the farther you move from pitt or philly.

I honestly have no state pride, I don't really like PA. Some things are ok but there are far more that I hate. I cannot wait to get out of here.

I am pretty proud of Oregon. Alot of time people come when its raining and thus spread the myth its always raining here, pretty untrue but dont tell people that we allready have enough retired californias coming up here.

I lived for 6 years (and will retire) in Texas. I have been all over the US and can say from my experience, no other state has the pride the Texans have for their home. I like the "Don't mess with Texas" saying the best.

People talk about Texas wanting to secede from the US like it's a BAD thing.....I say give 'em a parting gift and don't look back!

No one wants to secede. If anything the US govt would get so pissed and start a war because Texas is the #1 business state, #2 in oil, largest port in the world is in houston, doubt the US is gonna let that go.

EDIT: Houston might be the biggest port in US, dont remember exactly.

Without windchill. I've been out in -60 with a 40F windchill, that comes out to about -100F. Not fun.
