I agree that a full "exploded view" of all the different parts @Spoonbender used would be greatly welcome...What was the full setup? I don't fully get the mental image of where the brass bushing mentioned early by Moonshine goes.

Will eagerly wait for the results! The brass bushing is inserted in the plate. I haven't made any plates with bushings yet as they need thicker plate than I've made. I need to figure out a way to make the plate thicker. The plate must also be uniform thickness on bushing place and that's the main issue at the moment. After holiday trips I'm trying to solve this issue.

What pieces did you used for the insert and the thumbscrew?Done
If you were to fit it to a non-Steinberger, what size bolt would you use? M6? M8? From that I would get the appropriate insert.I'd find a suitable bolt (if the bass has threaded insert already) or choose a suitable screw and 3d-print or make a plastic washer to fit inside the brass insert.
What is the size and depth of the big middle hole in the brass insert? To determine the size for the head of the screw, for it to sit as flush as possibleBrass insert has 6,5mm hole so I'd use M6 with a threaded insert in the back of the bass.
How depth did you drill the insert hole into the body?Done
It's going to be different on a Woodberger than an XL2, because of weight and body size differences (XL2 is smaller and heavier) so what I'm going to do is find the balance point then move it up the same % of body width from centreline than my XL2.Hi everyone!
Does anyone have measurements regarding where to mount the plate to a Steinberger copy?
Thanks!

I, Too want one. Please keep me informed. FYI I am in 90405. DeanNone st the moment. When it gets warmer I'm planning to make a few. I don't want to laminate the plates inside my shop because of the smell of resin.
