I'm going to have to start saving for a Sterling SingRay. I wonder if there is any chance of them making the multiple pickup arrangements with the Sterling line.

Yes, I did. Apparently they are not OLPs. That's good. But it remains to be seen if they are, say a late '90s Squier, or maybe a Rogue.

Knowing MM products and how Sterling Ball conducts business, I have no fear that they will be quality products.

Lalkand Skylines = Lakland

The name actually makes sense to me. Ernie Ball is the father, then Sterling is the son.

Actually, Leo Fender was the father of Musicman.

These basses definitely look promising, I just wish the maple fretboard option was not just on the ray but the, um...Sterling...sterling's as well

Where are these manufactured?

Did the closest A/B test I could today. Natural maple necked Sterling Ray 34 and a 3 band maple necked finished EBMM set to the center detent on all EQ. The action and pickup to string distance was the same as best I could tell.

Very very similar and a comparison to how the the G&L Tribute is to the USA G&Ls is apt.

The Sterling Ray had a little less bass and the USA had a bit of a better sound overall but so small it could have been the strings, variation in the magnet, wires, or the breed of dog that peed on the tree as it grew.

Best way to explain it is that 2 cooks make a pot of stew from the same recipe with the same stash of ingredients and seasonings.

One uses a bit more garlic than the other and a pinch of a seasoning the other didn't. You will notice and be able to say one has more garlic, and one has this other little thing you can't put your finger on but both taste 95% the same.

These are no OLPs.

FWIW for those that don't know me and think this an EBMM knucklehead fanboi review you are dead wrong.

Korea. From my understanding (just read this on the Fender Forum) all distribution/manufacturing is handled through a company called Park. They licensed the rights and it's being overseen by MM but it is not officially a MM product.

Didn't get to since the booth was hectic. If I put the SbMM on the rack while I tried the USA, somebody would snatch it back and put it with the SbMM models.

The latest is that they're made in Indonesia. There are some great photos of the 5 string at the EBMM forum. Very very nice looking! Like the real deal.

After looking this does seem correct. I had asked here before and was told Korea by someone that I that I figured knew but I don't remember who that was now.

Regardless sorry for spouting misinformation.
