Stingray Classic Returns

More! its all the original details:
Bullet truss rod, 3 bolt neck.
String tree on the D&G.
No fretbord dot at 21st fret.
Original center groove bridge saddles...
Which would then be a centered mounted bridge instead of offset.
The bridge saddles are hollow too, just like the original. I'm digging these a lot!

I’m good with my newly acquired Classic 5.

I nearly cried when I didn't get an order in time with the recent BFR '76 reissue Stringray. So... no way in HELL was I going to let them all sell out from under me this time around. I just ordered the (IN STOCK, no less) '70s Retro Stingray in natural. Luckily I just happened to be surfing on the EB website today, and by chance saw that new Stingray offering. Can't wait to do some Louis Johnson and Bernard Edwards on it.

And, actually, I prefer the "authentic" treatment they are doing on these with all the original specs/hardware as close to the way it was originally as possible. I recently got a Fender Custom Shop '55 P-bass and that thing is spec-freaking-tacular. It immediately became my favorite bass. And part of that appeal is the "get it as close to the original" specs as possible and the heavy relic job (which is phenomenal--feels so good when playing, like a favorite old t-shirt). I never have been a huge fan of the relic thing... until I got a good one in my hands. Now I'm a fan.

I hope I take a liking to this new Stingray as quickly as I did the P-bass. At this point I'm glad I missed out on the '76 sunburst version because this natural finish has always been my favorite Stingray color, and I've never been a huge fan of sunburst.

I’ve never been a sunburst fan either but their chocolate burst is really nice!!
I’m missing a natural in my collection. StingRay in natural ash just looks perfect!! It’s the only bass I like th looks of in natural ash.
