Nice, really liking your stuff. What year is the SVT? And what colour is that Ric, always meant to ask you about it. it's goregeous.
1973 svt and autumglo/walnut 1978 ric and thanks. My svt is the weird transition year with the black silk screen instead of blue and before your graphics.
While I love the sound and feel of my Ric, the color is not my favorite, not bad but doesnt have a wow factor, i'd love something like yours.
What kind of tubes in the SVT? Mine was sounding kind of off for a while so I stopped playing it, eventually took it to have it checked and sure enough some screen resistors had blown along with some tubes. My tech is not 100% sure what current tubes will be able to withstand the 650 volts the amp puts on the tubes. Been shopping around but whenever you email the various tube sellers they never actually answer your questions.
also kind of funny, my SVT is a '78 and my Ric is a '73. maybe we should trade basses
hahaha nice, i've been using the same N.O.S. Tung sol 6550's i put in it the day i got it some 8 years ago. Still kicking A$$ I dont know what they go for now but i paid $200 for the sextet at the time. Bask in her "glo" lol
Sam, this is kinda stock, but have ya tried an sft?? Theyre small, warm and dark and not fuzzy..I keep one handy...but runnin an ampeg it May seem redundant.
Also the oxfuzz bass with about 30% blend and the fuzz just engaged is my favorite OD....and supercollider with all knobs left, maybe the tone @ noon.

haven't tried the SFT, but i have not heard a clip of it that i liked yet, sounds kind of farty to me.

I did have a midnight blue 4003, but it never sounded as good, and i did not like the neck as much, had the thicker baseball bat neck. sounded too polite and no snarl.
Sft sounds huge with a svt I have both
please, especially with the svt clean and the sft on a mild setting.
V4b and a 15 ok? Same tone stack except for the ultra low but I never use it on the svt anyway.
I keep mine with the drive at like 9 oclock and the lows just past noon, highs at noon, and volume as needed... nice!
I know you don't like the rat tail particularly but that clip of schwag I put up. My bass in the beginning is a RT. I'll do a clip with the sft and my RI DOD 250 also that's all the OD i have other then my tone hammer that's a whole other beast all together. P bass and rounds also?
sweet OD clips, can't never get enough. I heard a supercollider with the gain down that sounded really awesome.
