It's really a simple amp and one channel. Hybrid amp but really clear tone. I want a Catilinbread SFT for it or I was thinking of the VT. It really gives the SVT a run for the money but doesn't get that OMPH

You mean that "Oomph" from a working SVT?
Maybe just dial up some mids on the VT or the amp? I'm sure the Mesa will get stupid loud as well.
I'm parting with my Magma as well. Mine never got sent back but I'm not totally sure there's even anything wrong with it. With the SVT-300 it doesn't seem to put out enough volume but when I run it through the effects return in my living room rig (SWR Workingmans 15" combo) it seems fine. Either way it doesn't fit in my band so it's only being used at home. Out it goes.
I cleared my mind of preconception and started listening to the newer High On Fire albums again. As a fan of heavy metal/heavy music and not in the context of when I first heard them, then dismissed them as sounding different than what I liked about HOF. I actually like it quite a bit, I guess to my ear it sounds like "Stoner Thrash" which is right up my alley. Now that I'm not comparing it to every Sleep album, TAOSD and Surrounded By Thieves I'm enjoying Death Is This Communion.

Sounds like there's something wrong with it IMO. With the master at 3:00 into my IPR3000 I think I could take down a house.
I really like Snakes for the Divine. When I first heard it I'm like, "Old Metallica came back and are stoned!" I break up HOF into pre Surrounded by Thieves and post minus Blessed Black Wings (I just don't care for it)
Are you talking about the single they released, or did the album leak? I haven't see a leak yet so I'd be surprised.
I'm just talking about everything after Surrounded By Thieves. I was way into them up until that album and then I check out after Blessed Black Wings. I bought Death Is This Communion and listened to it once. I wrote them off as another band that started off awesome and then changed into something that was more popular but less interesting to me. Pleasantly surprised to be proved wrong, but sometimes I need a few years to give an album a fair shake. I don't stay up on new things very well, I'm a musical caveman.
Oh whoops you said newER albums. Snakes for the Divine didn't do much for me. Death Is This Communion is one of my favorite albums.
Well its such a nice day I think I'm gonna walk to the atm and get some cash then walk to the bar for a few cold ones! It's 70 here and there is still Ice on the lakes!
I'm going to borrow a solid state amp and see how it works out. How far up are you running your power amp?

I dime the level on my clean channel with the drive about 2 or 3 oclock, bass about 3 oclock and master dimed.....then my power amp is only at about 10 oclock and its plenth loud.
