I still kinda want a single coil p bass. I could never afford the real deal. So I keep searching for the next best thing. I was going to go up to Chicago to CME this weekend with some fellow bass nerds, but plans fell apart.
Man.. this thread moves fast. Last I checked my phone, I was on page 14... Time to check-in.
CME is Awesome! They had way too much cool stuff when I dropped by last year around this time. I never made it to the other bass stores in the area. They also have a lot of really cool drum stuff there as well.
I need to stop buying stuff. I just picked up a great looking set of British Racing Green Tama Artstar Customs. Great deal, and great shape for 16 year old drums. They are to keep my 22 year old Tama Granstars company.
I have been playing drums with a bassist and guitarist as of late. I am getting back in the swing of things and making some heavy music. Both the other guys dig YOB and whatnot. The bassist likes a lot of faster stuff too. In fact, he brought another guitarist to jam with tonight. I felt like I was in Dethklok. I haven't played sustained double bass for a long time. The bassist is also into odd time signatures. He seems to not dig 4/4. Its either in 7, or 5, or 2 bars of 3/4, and one of 5/4.... lol. Its kind of fun driving him crazy by making everything sound like 4/4, even when it is not.
I need to get myself set up to take a few bass lessons. I want to get to the point of being able to record drums and bass by myself. One day...
I have been watching a lot of Red Fang vids. Hard to beat.
Who here said that they would be doing a show in, or around Seattle sometime soon? I want to make sure I get that down on my calendar.
