No different situation. The '68 p bass pickup i dropped and broke, just got it rewound. I just threw it in the bass I just killed the hum in. It sounds good. I cant truly attest if a pot was at fault for the hum. After putting in the new pots, redoing all the grounds, a making a lug to attach the controls to the shielded cavity there is no hum. I put some pics in my thread. I'm still going to swap the pup now that the hum died. My buddy has a SPB-2 and I thing it will work great in this bass. If not the bass is gone![]()
I always hate those kinds of fixes. Not sure what you did specifically that fixed it, but the him is gone. Still, if it sounds good it is good.
