Stoner/Doom Bassists 54: Big Cabs and Nerd Bombs

Pull a Trent Reznor. You have all the talent/software/recording know how, to make a really killer record. Then when you are ready to gig out, assemble the legion. Let them know that you are looking for permanent members and what not. You need to get your music out there man. You got some killer riffs. And you know you could totally pull off any type of vocal style you wanted to.

C'mon, 2013 is the year! Lots of talent on this thread. Someone(s) on here is going to blow up this year, I can feel it :bassist: :bassist: :bassist:

The only blowing up will be me blowing up amps.

Practice went well, should kick some shiny metal ass at tomorrows gig.

Got myself something to work on...Got an old empty cab from my guitarist, open back 2x12 with a horn, going to turn it into a ported 1x15. Its got weird sparkly colth grill that I may or my not try to salvage. Oxblood tolex maybe? Should be a fun project. May need some help getting the ports tuned right from some of the graph loving DOOMers here.

Here in Edinburgh there is a band called Lords Of Bastard that use a Rhodes in a doom setting. I have their album 'Cuddles' which is pretty awesome. Imagine Magma and the Melvins jamming Mastodon covers (or something like that). Zeuhl doom anyone? Pretty glad that a few Edinburgh bands don't just sound like Mumford and Sons clones (or the Proclaimers trying to rap).

Old old old news for many I'm sure, but I was listening to Come My Fanatics and I'm surprised how much of what I used to think was guitar is actually bass. I love that fuzz - wah tone on Ivixor BPhase Inducer as well.
