Seems like it should work. Speaking from experience tube amps tend to get really blown out sounding with the super low tunings like that. Depends on what you're going for with a tone or whatever, but just something to think about.

Oh I figured you'd be running gain of sorts, what I was referring to is more that I've found tube amps end up sounding like nothing in the low end, it's kind of like an amorphous low sound rather than notes. I guess it also depends on how loud you play, at lower volumes you might still get enough headroom to avoid that blown out (not in a good way) mushy sound.

But who knows, it might work out perfectly with the svts and I could just be talking out my ass here haha.

Hahaha. Well, I'll probably be doing more recording than playing live just because of our locations. I guess we'll see what happens when I attempt to record.

I'll basically be sending him my recorded bass lines and he'll do all of the EQ work on his end. Maybe I'll record a clean track, then a dirty track. Might make it easier on him.

I gotcha, Dennis (our guitarist/engineer) has been experimenting with taking a direct track from my pedalboard, and then re-amping it in his system with some pretty awesome sounding results, especially when blended with a live mic. Might be something for your friend to look into.

This is the type of thing I'm looking into as well.

Did this with guitar a bit, but guitar was pretty easy to capture.

More concerned with bass as I have no experience recording bass.

I have noticed some cheaper made by Lace or designed by Lace pickups on ebay, not sure if they are any good though and only saw guitar ones so far.

I've liked all the samples I've heard of them. The biggest complaint I've heard about them is that they don't sound like vintage 60s Precision pickups, which is fine by me. I like more bite, that's why I like the Dimarzio Model P in my Precision. I had been thinking about doing a beater PJ with some of those Lace pickups though. I was mulling over buying a bunch of pickups for my guitars from them too. It's one of those low on the priority list things though.

+1 Love Dimarzios, why I dig those old Ibanez Roadstars they came with awesome stock dimarzios, roll off the tone is still vintage tone, but turn up and they are so hot for passive pups

haha theyre awesome.

the stock speakers in them are pure garbage, i was farting them all over in A so god knows what youll do to them in F, if they pick up anything at all. if theyve replaced the drivers with something good i bet itll sound awesome.

They got it like a week ago, so hopefully they'll have it all tested out and ready to go.

They tune to F or something similar too, so at least they'll know what to expect/test.
