Ughh... That's annoying. I pulle everything out of my basement when Sandy came, and I was the only person in my family that didn't have 4' of water under their house. I was glad, but somewhat annoyed that I moved all the gear for nothing.
How'd you make out?
Exactly! I can barely lift my head by myself and definitely can't move my 2x15 alone. That's what wives and bandmates are for!
Im on watch after three and a half hours sleep. How do I know that exact number? That's what the nurse told me when she woke me up during my sleep study when I had to leave early.
After debating building a cab and buying a speaker and hardware to build one I found a used diesel 1x15 locally. It was on guitar centers website under used. When I call the store they said they didn't have it on the floor. Turns out it was in the back with a blown speaker. So I offered to buy it with the blown speaker and they said sure.
So since I have all the hardware I might as well build one to match the one I bought.

I did a sleep study about 10 years ago...smartest thing I ever did...now I have to strap in to one of those goofy iron lung things, but my whole world changed once I started sleeping like normal people

ThanksEGC showing up yesterday made for a pretty good birthday today so far.
There was a time EGC was toying with the idea of making me an upright bass...would still like to revisit that idea at some point. Congrats again on the bass and happy birthday!
I really wonder what an upright with an aluminum fretboard would sound like. I'm sure any orchestral director would probably kick you out of any professional orchestra performance, but it would probably be pretty bad ass for the kind of stuff you do!

I never got into upright bass to be in orchestras! I'd been playing electric bass for years and years before I tried upright.
Little point of trivia, ALCoA made full aluminum basses in the late 1920's, fingerboards and all...they sound...interesting, and I think a couple builders still do them, but typically with wood fingerboards. The old ALCoA basses were mainly used for military bands at sea since they don't get water logged

Peavey 2x15's are super easy to load/unload and move by myself. Another reason why I miss them so much.

i think some people here are in bands with a bunch of dicks. its been years since ive played with people that didnt wanna help with gear, drums included. a band is a team, who the hell just says "move your own ****"? weirdos
No, but my wife is tiny. It's more an issue getting it out of my house into my car. The 215 doesn't have side handles like the 610, so it's more awkward to move. I'd really like to trade it for another 6x10.
For me the biggest pain is a narrow stair case. To narrow to get my arms on the side a cab to pick it up. Hard to make a turn in the corner.

This is actually what the fight was about after our show, my guitarist was trying to close his tab and our drummer got mad because he didnt help load anything. Now normally my drummer takes care of his drums cause hes uber protective over them, and he has one of my friends as a drum ape. Then me and guitarist help eachother with our stuff. But Ive said multiple times that i cool with carrying everything if I have too, im young, half their age, and this my first real frequent gigging band. Im putting my time in. My guitarist was kinda drunk and sick. I almost had too break a fight but my drummer realized he was being a douche and left angrily. He apologized the next day.
Everythings cool now though.
And its not that he didnt want to help, he was doing something else, my drummer didnt know that and we were to quick loading.
Man, got my EGC yesterday and this morning I snagged Lazarus Bird on vinyl for relatively cheap. Good birthday

Nah, it would still be easy. Those side handles with leverage and my hip. Being tall helps. And I'm built like a viking except fat.
