they probably weren't selling well. a lot of the people buying Bergs are more interested in the Fearful style cabs, light weight, full range etc. Bergantino isn't exactly the first think many rockers and doomers think of when looking for a big cab.

This is definitely true.

Every sound guy we work with is always super interested in my cabs, and has good things to say once we're done.

Also I've now had two friends borrow one of my cabs at a show and then end up buying their own because they like it so much...slowly taking over Chicago haha

I really can't think of a good example of a band who has been able to put out a record that was as good or even comparable to their heyday material 20+ years after the fact.

Anyone?

its just not possible. technology, gear, playing style, guys voices change over time, band members change, etc.

i think the CLOSEST (at least for me) was Alice in Chains last album, Black Gives Way to Blue. came out in 2009 and sounds pretty close to their heyday stuff (not as heavy/dirty as Dirt, but had a good combo of that and Jar of Flies). Those came out in 92/94, so were talking about a 15-17 year gap. pretty close.

thats all i got. bands that try to rehash their sound two decades later always fail miserably.

I thought Maiden's "Brave New World" was pretty strong, although it might be a few years shy of the 20 year mark.

New Sabbath isn't actually bad, and I say that having listened through Paranoid up to Sabotage on the way in and out of work today. Doubt I'll be rushing to listen to it again though.
