I too am interested in that Vinnie Paul business, I don't really have an opinion, but I'm curious.
On that note, has anyone started reading the Rex Brown Bio yet? I'm thinking about trying to grab it before we go to Cali in a couple of weeks.
1st Bass: Cheapie Washburn - Sold it to a kid down the street. It became his first bass too.
2nd Bass: Hamer Cruise - Sold it
3rd Bass: Carvin - Still have it, can't sell it. It doesn't get a lot of play for what I like to play, but it can do anything.
4th bass: Acoustic Fretless Washburn - I can't sell this bass, the serial number is S9200666 - Just can't do it.. That's way to cool. I do want to put a new pickup / preamp in there though.
5th: bass: MIM pbass - 1995 - Have it
Newest bass: Epi EB-3 - we're still honeymooning..
If it were me (now) I'd probably keep my first bass, that being said, I don't miss it in the least.
Finally, got called to Adjust / "Work" the Jason Bonham / Heart show last night. Here are my thoughts. Jason Bonham band was incredibly tight, they're set consisted of mostly older LZ material, they're singer had killer range and really sounded spot but looked very LA - bald / thin beard / weird studded iron cross shirt - but maybe he just thought that's how people in Jersey dress... I did however get to work on / with the bassist after they're set and totally nerded out on gear. He was trying to keep it traditional with a Pbass, and 2 Reissue acoustic 220 w/ the big cabs... I don't know if they're calling them 360's or not. Heart, isn't really my thing and I missed the first half of they're set working. They sounded good, the guitarist was repping 2 orange 412 cabs, which kind of surprised me and I will say that those lady's can rip it. The slimmer sister was all over the place jumping, doing kicks, clearly enjoying herself. The third set / encore consisted of a co-jam featuring Jason Bonham, his guitarist, the wilson sisters, their guitarist, & their bassist (whom appeared to be repping aguilar cabs, a Pbss, and what appeared to be a 70's fireglo ric.) I didn't find this set to meet the hype, but it was later Zep material Kashmir, Stairway, Battle of Evermore - which had killer mandolin, and 2-3 other songs. Generally, I prefer the older harder Zep material but it's always astounding to see Led Zeppelin music done well in a live setting.
