Id ask to give us a report of how it sounds when you do it, but I'm sure we all be able to hear it for ourselves.

The demo is done, we just need to finalize the cover art is all. We haven't practiced that much lately, because of the holidays, plus I was sick all weekend. We're definitely practicing this week, so hopefully by next weekend the demo will be online. I'll take a rig pic when we practice. Like I said before though, it's not that exciting right now. Lately I've just been running the MB800 into one Dually, eventually it'll be the massive 300W Dunwich head into both.
Speaking of which...I still need to come up with a name for the amp.

Drummer is gone and in a small, isolated town like this it may be many months before we get someone even remotely decent.

Actually, the demo might be up by tonight or tomorrow. Just conferring by text message and email with the dudes right now. Seems like everyone might already be cool with the preliminary cover art, so I might throw it on bandcamp when I get home tonight. Just waiting to hear back from the drummer.

Alright - One car is back to being fully functional! WooHoo! (fingers crossed)
Second car - Hyundai with blown engine - just spoke the mechanic who will be doing the engine work. He's going to have his tow-truck drivin' buddy hook it and bring it to his shop (about 40-50 miles away, small town, small prices) and has a line on a used motor with 64k miles on it. Got a quote that seems just this side of "too-good-to-be-true", here's hoping it works out.
The guy rebuilt the motor on my father's mustang two years ago and that's still running strong - though it's far from a daily driver.
Band practice tonight - I'm looking forward to blowing off some steam.

Thanks, I'm looking forward to getting feedback. I have to restrain myself from pre-apologizing for it, because I already want to move on to writing and recording better stuff, with a clearer vision. Nothing new there, all of us who've recorded anything usually know how that goes.
Sorry to hear about you guys losing your drummer. That sucks, hopefully you find a replacement quickly.
I'm in a weird place for recording with bands now, because I've gotten really good at recording my own stuff. So I know how to get killer tones and really craft everything to an overall sound that I like (and usually get a lot of compliments on from others), but when there's other people in the mix that have gear THEY want to use and settings they're adamant about, it's a lot harder. I'm not Phil Spector, I can't pull a gun on someone in the studio and demand they do it the way I want. Well, I COULD...but I wouldn't.
That's tough, because you know what you're talking about and you have the band's best interest in mind, but it's hard to not come off like you're a know-it-all. Tone and gear are such subjective and personal things, people get easily offended when you try to offer advice. I've experienced this to a certain extent.
Maybe you could secretly record clean DI tracks and re-amp everything later. Get it close to their tone but improved.

I have thought about that, seriously. That would be a lot of extra work for ME though lol.
My guitarist has a reamp box thing. I don't think we've used it for the record though, as the basic tracks sounded good on their own.
My DI/Reamp box doesn't get that much use. I always record a DI track on my bass, just in case, but hardly ever need to use it.
