You probably won't need to mic a 375w 210, but having a DI around might not be a bad idea. The cheap $25 Behringer one has been handy for me.

Got my sansamp VT, and the Carvin has a DI out, so sounds like I am covered if I go either route.
We love volume in here, but the only time my 210 hasn't been able to keep up with a band was when I played with two guitarists with full stacks. For normal style shows and practices, I've never had any trouble with just my 210.
I'm trying to decide if it's worth pursuing a band with the drummer and guitarist I jammed with on Saturday, considering every practice would be a minimum 2 hour round trip drive. They were nice guys and good musicians and vaguely in the same ballpark for style. If I were to nitpick though, I'd say the want to do something that's a little more in the vein of QOTSA or Eagles of Death Metal than I was looking for. Which would be slightly more heavy in that Backwoods Payback, Unida, Freedom Hawk sort of sound.
We didn't really try to write any original material though, so I may just see if they want to give that a shot and see what comes out before I make a final decision. The drive and the fact they both seem to prefer jamming late puts more of an emphasis on my reluctance to jump right in though.

A few years ago I was playing in a band with a 1 hour + commute. The guitar player lived a little over halfway there so friday afternoons I'd load up after work, pick up the singer on the way down, stop at guitar player's house, we'd load up his giant boat of a car with gear then he'd drive the final 35-40 minutes.
I won't lie, it was a major pain in the ass. I'd usually have a few beers at practice, then by the time we'd be done and driven back to guitar dude's house I'd be wiped out from the long, long day. Most times I'd end up crashing at his place because I didn't want to do another 35 minutes on the interstate while buzzed and tired.
The band broke up before too long and while I liked the stuff we were doing, I was glad to see it go. Every friday was booked for practice and driving. It was super expensive and in the winter it could be downright dangerous. I was working 6am-2:30pm and would end up crashing around 3:30-4:00 because guitar player dude didn't have a job and liked to stay up late. Those were long days.
So all of that being said, your situation probably isn't as bad, but it's a lot of work.
Not as bad, but its about a 40 minute drive each way for me. twice a week sometime, it gets tiring but we cant seem to find a more central jam space.
It's not quite as bad as that, but I have some reservations about it. An hour each way is about up to the edge of my limit, depending on when practice would be and how much I'm into the band. It's forcing me to be a little more picky, which sucks...because I really can't afford to be picky if I want to play the music I enjoy. I've been trying to start a stoner rock band locally for 12 years with no success. I say yes to a lot of offers I get to record or jam, hired gun stuff. Offers I would say no to outright if I was being picky, because I'm not interested in doing the band long term, but I enjoy playing music and it keeps my chops up. I do that more often than I do anything with the 2 bands I'm officially in combined. So if something is kind of close to what I want to do, but not quite exactly, having to work to do makes me a little more hesitant.
I'm going to send the guitarist an email and see what his response to the jam session is first. I'll give it a little more time to unfold before rushing to judgement.

Personally I wouldn't drive that far to jam with people, too expensive to drive everywhere. Luckily the two places I live are small music communities so the farthest distance would be 30 minutes at most. People I'm talking to I think live across the road, so that'll be cool. Just throw my crap in the trunk and zip over.
I constantly try to get people to jam at my work. I have access whenever I want, it's in a commercial/industrial area where no one complains about being loud, it's gated, there's AC and heat, lots of room...and it's a 5 minute drive from my house. It's also where I store half my gear anyway, so I don't have to move anything. Somehow I can hardly ever convince anyone. I always record there though.
I drice a solid 45 minutes for my main band. I'm auditioning with another band in Fredericksburg, which will also be about 45 minutes.
I don't mind the drive- it's a good chance to listen to music. Besides, I drive a Prius. Gas doesn't bother me much anymore.
Corey, if you're still in the area when I move back to Seaside, we gotta hook up. I'd drive 90 minutes for AC!

I have no clue. Seriously, I offer pretty much every band or group of people I jam with. Maybe 1 out of every 3 says yes. The only downside is everyone has to bring their gear to and from. Even that is flexible, since I have storage space and tarps or plastic sheeting, it just can't stay all set up in place. There's a carpeted back room with a high ceiling where I jam, a front office with a break room and a warehouse for storage. It's in a bad neighborhood, but it doesn't really matter since we have a gated lot. Unless people are too nervous to drive a few blocks past crackheads and crazy homeless people.

I don't have any plans to go anywhere, especially with refinancing my mortgage. I'd be down, Seaside is a 30 minute drive max. A pretty leisurely drive at that.

Ignore the spray paint on the front of the building that says "RAPE SHED". I did that myself, to keep the crazies away.
